Tomato Dal/ Tomatoes cooked with Yellow Lentils and Spices. Yellow lentils- 1 cup. Ginger- 1 tbs (finely chopped). Turmeric powder- 1/2 tbs. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tbs. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tbs. Garlic- 4 cloves (chopped). Curry leaves- 1 strand (about 8-10 leaves). Pressure cook dal, mash it and keep it aside. In a heavy bottomed pan add the ingredients under ”For Tampering” and fry for few seconds now add green chillies, chopped onions and fry them until they turn translucent.
