I never allowed myself the luxury of those brilliant, beautiful colors until I went to India and saw people walking around in them or dragging them in the mud. I realized they were not so artificial.

2003, c-prints behind plexiglass, 60 × 70 cm. Is a series of six photographs of people posing in urban environs, dressed in uniformly-colored apparel that matches their background. The individuality of the models is manifested through the clothing they chose and its affinity to their surroundings. Through the artist's knowledge of her sitter's nature, she can create an image of abstraction based on individual aesthetic.

Recollecting traditional American quilts of the late 1800s Pennsylvania - early forerunners of the self-conscious invention of pictorial abstraction - the Rainbowquilt Painting. Series reenacts old manners within a contemporary discourse, it shows imaginary spaces of anticipation or fantasizes about an assertiveness-to-be.
