leftovers from a burnt out food blogger

http://www.consuminglilly.com/why

I love food and i did love blogging, but the food blogging world has changed into something i didn’t much like. I never started blogging to get famous or get that book deal or get those freebies. i started blogging because i had so much passion and curiosity and excitement towards food i couldn’t contain it and just had to share it. i really am a huge food geek. My old posts are still available at http:/ consuminglilly.blogspot.com. C) consuminglilly and lilly jan. don't steal. it's not nice.

La Vida Veggie: Cocoa Cram Fest

http://lavidaveggie.blogspot.com/2009/12/cocoa-cram-fest.html

Musings and mumblings, recipes and reviews from a Boston gal on the veggie path. Sunday, December 6, 2009. To make something, and actually. Everything I need to make it. And as I write this and fish out the last cinnamon-y, cocoa-y bits from the bottom of my mug (so? I feel prepared to take my sugarized, caffeinated brain back to business. 189; cup almond, rice, or soy milk. 1 tablespoon cocoa powder. Sugar to taste (I used about a teaspoon, since I used sweetened almond milk). 189; teaspoon vanilla.

La Vida Veggie: October 2009

http://lavidaveggie.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Musings and mumblings, recipes and reviews from a Boston gal on the veggie path. Sunday, October 25, 2009. Fall - In a Tortilla! I haven't been there since they started requiring a nylon messenger hat for entry, but I used to love that apple and brie sammich of theirs. But, I can say with absolutely no bias: this is better. I can say that because it won the approval of Executive Chef Kevin Olmstead of Pittsburgh's freshest, illest spot – J'eet Cafe. 6 oz brie, cut into thin slices. Olive oil for saute.

La Vida Veggie: PastaCon

http://lavidaveggie.blogspot.com/2010/03/pastacon.html

Musings and mumblings, recipes and reviews from a Boston gal on the veggie path. Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Homemade Pasta with Oven-Roasted Broccoli. A recipe of homemade pasta – really a combination of eggs, flour, and a bit of water. Bust out a KitchenAid pasta attachment, a pasta roller from a yard sale, or your floured-up hands. Try it, sweat and curse your way through it, and thank me later. 1 small head of broccoli, trimmed into small florets. 1/3 cup olive oil. 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced. If the...

La Vida Veggie: Have We Me[a]t?

http://lavidaveggie.blogspot.com/2010/07/have-we-meat.html

Musings and mumblings, recipes and reviews from a Boston gal on the veggie path. Saturday, July 24, 2010. Thought I appreciated the concern, meat-mouths and veg-heads don't seem to realize how much chicken stock, pork fat, and fish gelatin work their way into things as innocuous as lentil soup, home fries, and multi-vitamins. Pictured above, and captured by the unsinkable Lauren Bennett. Because I'm happy to talk about my revival of occasional carnivorousness. And to close, I thought I'd reaffirm my ...

January 28, 2010. City Bakery announces Hot Chocolate Festival flavors! Here I am enjoying a cup of last year's offerings at City Bakery's annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Even though it's been around for ages, I only discovered City Bakery. Last year, and holy bananas - this place is amazing. Their hot chocolate is a famous New York treat and I'm excited that January is winding down as this signals that City Bakery's annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Is about to kick off. Puff & Choux: December 2010

http://puffandchoux.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

December 17, 2010. Not just gingerbread houses. Today I came across this amazing video that shows the progressive build of a 17-ft. gingerbread tree at Disney's Contemporary Resort. In Orlando, FL. The tree is made up of only 6 ingredients, but check out the quantities:. 1,050 pounds of honey. 800 pounds of flour. 600 pounds of powdered sugar. 35 pounds of spices. 600 pounds of chocolate. 180 pounds of apricot glaze. Puff & Choux: Zagat launches food truck tracking site

http://puffandchoux.blogspot.com/2010/11/zagat-launches-food-truck-tracking-site.html

November 9, 2010. Zagat launches food truck tracking site. Today, Zagat announced a free website that is aimed at the food truck fan base around New York - FoodTrucks.Zagat.com. Functional on mobile browsers (but not available as a smartphone app), the site allows users to track their favorite food trucks throughout the city and presumably take a more strategic approach to tracking down their favorite waffles for lunch. Puff & Choux: May 2010

May 19, 2010. I want to eat this. If someone buys this. For me, I'll love you forever. Just sayin'. Posted by Mary Ann. May 8, 2010. The very best distractions. That's the last time I posted? Geez Sorry guys. I guess March and April have been full of distractions and the blog suffered as a result. It's not that I haven't been baking. In fact, I've been enjoying my baking more than ever recently. What makes it so. Much fun, you ask? Posted by Mary Ann. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Puff and Choux Favorites.

http://lavidaveggie.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Musings and mumblings, recipes and reviews from a Boston gal on the veggie path. Sunday, April 19, 2009. Runners, tighten your laces! Liquor stores, stock your 40's! I just got back from a run and, starving, whipped up some breakfast. There are tons of recipes for tofu scramble out there, to the point where you don't really need. 1 package extra-firm tofu, thoroughly drained and crumbled. 1 small onion, finely diced . 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced. 1 heaping teaspoon turmeric. A few splashes of hot sauce.

Consuming LA | The Los Angeles Food Blog

March 20, 2018. Shibumi is a Japanese word which refers to an aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty. The LA restaurant Shibumi more than lives up to its name. Hidden away behind a signless facade and located on the ground floor of a parking structure in Downtown LA, the dimly lit restaurant has a cool minimalist vibe. Creamy, crunchy perfection. Perfectly seasoned and grilled. Get in my belly now. Cherry leaf-wrapped sweet rice treat. Lotus, Sweet Potato and Young Burdock Chips. Jefferson a...

February 8, 2011. In defense of sandwiches. The way we eat. Duck fat grilled cheese anyone? Thats a lot of honor to give a sandwich. Admittedly I do crave a sandwich once in a while, but typically as part of a larger dining experience; like a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk. Still, those days are far and few between, and not enough to say that I am developing a favor for sandwiches. Links to this post.
