Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts. We welcome new members each fall. Membership involves a commitment for a year (September until mid-June). Mak’hela rehearses once a week on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:15 at the Lander-Grinspoon Academy on the Congregation B’Nai Israel campus in Northampton, and performs approximately 6 times per year. Membership dues are $180 per year with a sliding scale available to those who request it. Dues may be paid in two installments (fall and spring).

What is contemplative computing? Contemplative computing may sound like an oxymoron, but it's really quite simple. It's about how to use information technologies and social media so they're not endlessly distracting and demanding, but instead help us be more mindful, focused and creative. My book on contemplative computing, The Distraction Addiction. Was published by Little, Brown and Co. in 2013, and is available in bookstores and online. This 2011 talk is a good introduction.
