Montrealize: The Cycle Chic Manifesto
http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/p/cycle-chic-manifesto.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. The Cycle Chic Manifesto. As a huge fan of Mikael Colville-Andersen's efforts to help regular citizens reappropriate the practice of cycling as a normal activity, I am reproducing here the Copenhagen Cycle Chic manifesto. I totally and wholehearted agree with most (well, I do take issue with points 7 and 9) of the principles in this manifesto. Thank you Mikael for contributing to the promotion of common sense. 8 J’aurai toujours u...

http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Monday, October 24, 2011. I cannot remember in which post I mention these. Bornes escamotables. Random picture from the Internet. Others walk or bike. How come they are not more widespread? A perfect area to implement them is the Old Montréal with its narrow Nouvelle France. A closer look. These ones do not look magnetic. Still. Keeps off unwanted traffic, and especially, prevents any rat running in residential streets! First of all, vi...

http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Hell will freeze over. Before something like this is even envisaged in here. Such concepts would just curl our North America neurons. Especially in Quebec where people drive like they own the streets. There is it, as seen on Copenhaganize! Thursday, April 5, 2012. Petite mise au point. I've been meaning to do that for a while now but got lazy. I am a big time procrastinator. What is your problem with Lululemon?

http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

A litre! That's quite a jump in a week and I truly hope it is only the beginning. Read the rest here. It can only go up my friends! It is a structural situation you see. Bridge tolls are coming our way. Oh yeah, by the way, Montreal is an island. Montreal metro system (the underground or the tube) is having ...

http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2011/09/le-ptit-train-du-nord-bike-trail-part-1.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Monday, September 5, 2011. Le p'tit train du nord" bike trail - Part 1. Yes folks, I am back! Were I left in the previous post. We're just back from a very nice weekend during which we managed to avoid all the downpours. Lucky as we were, we biked all weekend in-between the showers, dodging all the drops, summoning both thunder and lightening to materialise only at night. And boy they did! Was at Km 25, at 300 m from the trail entry.

Montrealize: November 2011
http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. I am such a weirdo! Last week, as I was both browsing the latest online edition of Momentum Magazine. And noodling around on their website, I came upon an article about how Lululemon. Had being putting a commuter line ("see me ride") on trial for this fall. Big shock: I was not aware of this even though I am perpetually lurking around. So I went to the website: rien. Then all the sudden, the new sales price w...

Montrealize: Share the road
http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2012/06/share-road.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Saturday, June 9, 2012. This year again, Vélo Quebec. Is campaigning for a courteous sharing of the road. By all users. Experts have already given us a piece of their minds on the "sharing the road theory" but hey, everyone is free to be wrong and years behind. Too bad this misconception is perpetuated on public funds. Ahem. They are just being recycled. They get along so well in our garages. Why not in our streets. The main TV spot.

Montrealize: As stupid as it gets
http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2012/06/as-stupid-as-it-gets.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Friday, June 15, 2012. As stupid as it gets. It is a very unfortunate fact that, still to this very day, cycling is seen as either a "choosing the right bike" thing or "individual freedom/choice/civil right" issue. Not many have made the connection between cycling rates and cycling infrastructures, even though the lack thereof is the single reason for low cycling rates in North America, along with the worship of automobiles. They could ...

Montrealize: Cream tires do not cut it
http://montrealize-montrealize.blogspot.com/2011/10/cream-tires-do-not-cut-it.html
Glimpses into one of the most vibrant North American cycling cities. Thursday, October 6, 2011. Cream tires do not cut it. I had Schwalbe cream tires installed on my bike in mid-July. I absolutely love the look of cream tires and fantasized about cruising around on a nice old-fashioned looking bicycle. Well, within a week they were disgusting. I washed the bike again. Few days later, damn it, can't believe it, those bloody tires are disgusting again. And, oh miracle! Is it that they don't really cycle?
