Truffle Butter | Cook (almost) Anything at Least Once
http://cookalmostanything.blogspot.com/2009/01/whb-165.html
Saturday, January 10, 2009. Pam from The Backyard Pizzeria. Here in Melbourne is the host for this edition of Weekend Herb Blogging. And this week I'm taking a good, long. Truffles are a bit of a luxury so if you do treat yourself to one, you want to make sure you'll get the most out of it. You do get caught up in that "I want to eat it all now" versus the "I want to savour it". What you want to aim for is to get the most out of it. While the majority of these truffles ended up in our Christmas Eve dinner.

Saturday, May 09, 2009. Chris from Mele Cotte. Is hosting this edition of Weekend Herb Blogging. And this week I have a basket full of Quinces. Recipes for Quince date back to Roman times where they were stewed with honey while in medieval England, quince pastes were preferred. 1 tablespoon Mandarine Napoléon (or another citrus based spirit). Oven-poached Quince (instructions below). Place a poached quince quarter in the base of a Martini glass and trickle over with a little syrup. Set it aside. Continue...

Divine Dairy Blue | Cheese@Cook (almost) Anything
http://cheese.cookalmostanything.com/2011/05/divine-dairy-blue.html
Tuesday, 31 May 2011. I've recently noticed a few new cheeses produced under the label of Divine Dairy appearing on the shelves of late so naturally I've brought one home to try. While the name is new the people behind it are not - they are the same people responsible for the Udder Delights. Range The milk used for this cheese is sourced from a certified biodynamic and organic herd of Holsteins from Langhorne Creek and the cheese is produced in the Adelaide Hills. Labels: Maker - Divine Dairy. Maker - Ma...

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: January 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 05, 2006. Melbourne, Australia, part iii of n. This café latte was too pretty, and I couldn't pass up taking a shot of it. My dad ordered it off some coffee joint at Crown Casino. I can't remember exactly what the place is called, but it sure wasn't some fancy schmancy coffee place that's called Coffee Connoisseur. While I'm no authority on pouring the perfect cup of coffee, it can't seriously be all that hard to pour a pretty one, once you've learned it. I'd rather go for kopitiam.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: November 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 10, 2006. I've been terribly lazy in updating my blog! I'm sure you're wondering where's the write up on Thailand. It'll come. At some point. I've been working at Le bistrot for the past 3 weeks or so, and I've been keeping myself busy with thought; thinking and planning about the present and future. I sometimes wonder if I put to much thought into it, and if things dont't work out, man. it's gonna be a bummer. Nevertheless, life goes on, whatever happens eh? Here's a picture of my mom's...

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: October 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 07, 2006. All that is gone now because they've sold the place, and all of my family has moved to various places. What a shame. Anyways, I'll be spending the next 11 days there. I believe I'll have alot of fun, just seeing my family there and getting to know them. I can't speak a word of Thai right now, but just maybe, I might come back with a handful of phrases. And to think that I can actually bake a cake and have all of it. But it just dosen't work that way. Up how I've felt and feel ...

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: March 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 10, 2006. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just say it like it is. I'm working in the Raffles Hotel. For the longest time, I've been wanting to work in a pastry kitchen. I didn't even know who to approach, or even wonder, who'd be willing to take me in. I'm thinking :" Who'd want some guy who hasn't worked in a pastry kitchen before. I've only got an interest and do some baking at home. All I've got is experience in a hot kitchen (that is, hot food cooking).". Here's some of the de...

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: Indonesia in Pictures!
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006/10/indonesia-in-pictures.html
Saturday, October 07, 2006. First night in Semarang. A food stand selling Bakso,. A noodle dish with beef balls. Semarang, City Center. Riding Pillion in Semarang is a very scary but thrilling affair! Note the nervous smile as I take a picture of myself. Zipping past a road side food stall. Modus Operandi for road side food stalls. A simple meal of Pecil, with cows lungs, heart and stomach. That's Pecil, a sweet peanut sauce. I would imagine this to be a typical day in Pasar Johar. That was my ride.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: April 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 28, 2006. If you can stand the heat, stay in the kitchen. I went back to work on wednesday, and it turns out that the two new casual labourers couldn't take the heat (although it is generally cold in there and there are only 4 burners in a corner), and left after a day's work. Oh well. It's Food and Hotel Asia 2006 week! There was so much to see and it was overwhelming. We both can't wait to get in on the action, of furnishing our own place, buying equipments and stuff. You do not exists ju...

AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 WINKS: August 2006
http://aroundtheworldin40winks.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 16, 2006. It's funny. Whenever I hear the word "barbeque", I think of chicken wings marinated in soy sauce, processed hotdogs and crabsticks, squid with sambal and the all time The clichés. Chris had a grand idea of just having burgers for a barbeque. And it did sound good. After all, I really really dislike grilled and then microwaved burgers from fast food joints. It's such a lie! Moving on from bad food experiences, Chris had a plan, and we finally put it into motion. Everything else...

Monday, May 26, 2008. The Cottage Waffle Place - Ordinary. You'd think that after all that damage done at Carl's Jr we'll behave ourselves for the next few days. But no, we have to accentuate our pleasurable diinner with nice sweet things. Recalling the new waffle/ice-cream shop at level 3 during our last visit, we decided to seek it out. BUT Mr HB promptly decided this is what we will be going for! Then this arrive shortly. 5 mini scoops of ice-cream, banana slices, apple slices, waffles (YEA! Without f...
