We are passionate about the ingredients used in the production of our wines and wherever possible we use fruit from our own small farm. However, when we need more, fruit is brought in from elsewhere in Cumbria, mostly from the Eden Valley. We can claim that all our wine is made from Cumbrian fruit. Prices are for UK delivery only. Gooseberry Wine (2013) 12% alcV. A light, medium-dry wine with delicate gooseberry flavour. Bramble Wine (2014) 12% alcV. A medium, light red wine with berry aroma and flavour.

High Cup Wines was established at Townhead Farm and Winery. As a diversification from the ubiquitous sheep farming in this attractive part of Cumbria. Townhead Farm is Cumbria’s only commercial vineyard and winery and produces a range of country wines. Situated at the foot of the Pennines in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At its north-eastern end, towards the Eden Valley. It is a short distance from Dufton, Appleby and Penrith.

High Cup Wines are produced at Townhead Farm and Winery. Cumbria’s only commercial vineyard and winery, which prepares a range of fruit wines. From fruit grown on the farm and in the local area. Situated at the foot of the Pennines in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Townhead Farm enjoys outstanding views of the Lakeland Fells across the valley of the River Eden. Formal group visits are welcome during the evening and sometimes during the day. Held seated above the shop, the normal programme includes a wine tasting with questions and discussion (around 30 minutes), followed by coffee, tea and biscuits and, of course, wine sales. There is no charge to small groups who wish to tast a small selection of wines informally in the winery shop.

High Cup Nick is one of the most impressive landforms in England. It forms the end of High Cup Gill, a classic U-shaped valley which runs westwards from the Nick to the Eden Valley.
