These cookies are popular in Middle Eastern cuisine. Usually they are made using wooden moulds but since fewer people outside of the Middle East have those this recipe uses cookie cutters – works just as well. Maámouls are filled with nuts (esp pistachios or walnuts), dates, or other fillings. I made 1/3 of the recipe which yields in around 6 cookies.

Brownies were developed in the US at the end of the 19th century and become popular in the US and Canada in the early 20th century. Our gluten-intolerant flatmate made both of these on different occassions and both of them were so damn jummy, you wouldn’t even be able to tell they’re gluten-free. All you need is some kind of string, whatever material you prefer and if you like in different colours. Loop your two strings to get 4. You can loop a metal clip in there if you’re planning on making a camera strap. If you have 4 different colours hold them or melt them together.
