Cooking Cleverly with Beverly: Guatemalan Green Stew
http://cookingcleverlywithbeverly.blogspot.com/2013/10/guatemalan-green-stew.html
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Friday, October 25, 2013. In the winter (or at least when we hit temperatures under 80, which is practically winter in Texas), I love me a good stew. They fill your home with a warm smell, act as humidifiers and provide lots of meals. But it's cold, and in the cold, I don't eat salads. So what's a girl who needs a break from heavier meals but is still in need of serious eats that are warm and cozy?
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly: Microwave burritos
http://cookingcleverlywithbeverly.blogspot.com/2014/05/microwave-burritos.html
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Sunday, May 18, 2014. Soooooo I apparently erased all the photos from my blog. I was just trying to free up space in Google via my fancy schmancy new phone, and I figured that since they were posted to the blog, I didn't need them any more. I did not realize that the sync settings on my phone would erase all photos EVERYWHERE. FOREVER. Not that it is a huge loss to humanity, I suppose. 1 can beans (m...
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly: Pumpkin "Loaf"
http://cookingcleverlywithbeverly.blogspot.com/2013/10/pumpkin-loaf.html
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. There was a time when I would buy a Starbucks pumpkin loaf piece every week and SAVOR. EVERY. BITE. I even had a method. First, I'd eat the corners and the edges along the sides and bottom. These were good, but they were not the best parts. They are sort of like the lights dimming before a good theater show. I'm the only one who did that? Well, y'all are missing out.
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly: Corndogs-- low carb and grain free

Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Saturday, November 16, 2013. Corndogs- low carb and grain free. There was one word for me at the State Fair this year: underwhelmed. Yep, that's right. It was a classic case of the philosophy principle (and bonus point for you if you know who said it and leave a comment! That indicates that expectation is the purest/highest form of pleasure you can attain because the reality never measures up. I serv...
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly: Of pumpkin bread and being a snotface
http://cookingcleverlywithbeverly.blogspot.com/2013/10/of-pumpkin-bread-and-being-snotface.html
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Saturday, October 12, 2013. Of pumpkin bread and being a snotface. Not too long ago, I saw a blog post where someone posted about having made an egregious error while making pumpkin bread. They accidentally put CUMIN in. What? Do they not read? Have they not heard the adage "measure twice, cut once? So I dismissed it, clucked my tongue, and went on with life. I kid you not. I did some googling and co...

All Day I Dream About Food. Innovative Low Carb, Gluten-Free Recipes. Light and Fluffy Coconut Flour Pancakes (Low Carb and Gluten-Free). April 20, 2012. I am not sure I have any business calling anything made with coconut flour “light and fluffy”. Really, have you ever worked with the stuff? Yes, apparently I like to anthropomorphize my ingredients. Weird. Moving on…. Light and Fluffy Coconut Flour Pancakes (Low Carb and Gluten-Free). 1/2 cup coconut flour. 3 tbsp granulated erythritol (I used Swerve.

Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Wednesday, August 31, 2016. We have a kindergartener! Last Monday Daniel had his first day at Coppell Classical Academy. So far, we seem to be missing old friends and teachers but settling in well and beginning to make new friends. Our first day of school pictures:. Side note: this kid has wonderful natural running form. I see greatness there! Not just do test prep. Now all we had to...

http://texaswilliamsonfamily.blogspot.com/2016/08/padre-trip.html
Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Sunday, August 21, 2016. Last month we did what the Daniels and Williamsons do every summer-we went to Padre Island for a long weekend. This year's trip was special though-for the first time, we were there on Daniel's birthday. Kevin buried each kid in sand. There was also time for swimming in the pool. Super-Rebecca captured in flight! And cuddling with grandparents Mimi and Baba.

Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Friday, October 10, 2014. How do I love you? Over the past few weeks Daniel and I have had a sweet game we play at bedtime where we describe the ways we love each other. The game has had a few variations. A spin on the "I love you to the moon and back" line. I love you to the school and back." "I love you to chapel and back.". Variation #2: More than this. Variation #2: Body parts.

http://texaswilliamsonfamily.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Better yet, one of my best friends from college, Crystal, and her 8 year old son Zephyr, decided to join us. Football, friends, mom-son bonding time, what's not to love? By the end of the first quarter I think the score was already 27-3 or something so the only question was when the backups would come in. The boys were excited to see all those touchdo...

Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Wednesday, July 27, 2016. International dinner, last day of school, preschool graduation, TOTShine Time performance, ballet recital. I'm a bit behind and have plenty more recent events to update but before more time passes, time to cover the last month of school events. My favorite song of their performance-the planet song. Poor Pluto! Blessing of the students. After all the kids had...

Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. This weekend we went to College Station to celebrate my cousin Paul's wedding. Daniel family weddings are always fun opportunities to catch up with family members but I was also looking forward to this weekend as the first time to introduce Daniel and Rebecca to the city and university I called home for 4 years. After that we went to the Bonfire Memorial....

Ellen and Kevin Williamson's Family Blog. A blog about the joys and challenges of parenting and our life as a family of 4. Friday, June 3, 2016. I'm gonna need you to raise your glass. I don't care what you put in it. Here's to nights that you can't take back. We live hard but we love to laugh. See, we won't forget where we came from. The city won't change us. We beat to the same drum. No, we won't forget where we came from. The city can't change us. We beat to the same drum, the same drum. I could hear ...

Now that the balcony lights are down and we're enjoying our last night with the Christmas tree before taking it down, I can just get my holiday update in under the wire ;). In response to the line before his asking where the pilgrims should go to leave the oppressive King of England). As December rolled around we began getting ready for Christmas, which in...

Cooking Cleverly
October 13, 2012. Grades were due this week. Needless to say, there wasn’t a whole lot of extra time for blogging! Honestly, there hasn’t been much time for cooking, either. To make things, worse, I totally forgot to leave my helper money for grocery shopping, meaning I had pretty much zero food options in the house. Just about everything in Indonesia is deep-fried (ok, everything. Really), and I’ve missed eating more healthy food! 2 cups rolled oats. 4 T peanut butter. Stirring it together as you go.

Cooking Cleverly with Beverly
Cooking Cleverly with Beverly. Crafty culinary adventures with a well-travelled and frugal southern girl. Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Low carb "Bubble tea". Bubble tea is the divisive issue of my food life. I have had friends who, on first taste, spit it out and look at me as if I were trying to poison them. Then there are people like my mom who cannot be trusted to leave my beverage alone if I run to the bathroom for two seconds, even if I'd brought her a cup of her own. True story. In the event you want ...
