Cooking Cool Ain't Hard: Asian Influenced Cashew Chicken Wraps

http://cookingcoolainthard.blogspot.com/2011/10/asian-influenced-cashew-chicken-wraps.html

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard. Saturday, October 15, 2011. Asian Influenced Cashew Chicken Wraps. I love these things. I have always been a "wrap" kind of guy and am always looking for different ways to create new combinations. Up to that point, I hadn't seen any "Asian-style" wraps in restaurants so I thought I was being quite innovative. It is ridiculously easy and full of flavor plus I love the crunch you get from the cashews and chow mein noodles. Give this sucker a try. 1 cup Red Onion, sliced. Bistro Day...

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard: Puerco Pibil - A Slow Roasted Mexican Pork

http://cookingcoolainthard.blogspot.com/2011/11/puerco-pibil-slow-roasted-mexican-pork.html

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard. Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Puerco Pibil - A Slow Roasted Mexican Pork. Puerco Pibil is an insanely exotic dish that's a staple in the Yucatan Peninsula. It's trademark color comes from the annatto seeds in the aciote paste. If you've ever seen "Once Upon A Time In Mexico", you'll recognize this as the dish that Johnny Depp's character goes loco over. The annatto seeds I refer to above can be purchased in Mexican markets or purchased online. They look like little rocks:. Oohone ...

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard: Pasta Filletto di Pomodoro

http://cookingcoolainthard.blogspot.com/2011/11/pasta-filletto-di-pomodoro.html

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard. Sunday, November 13, 2011. Pasta Filletto di Pomodoro. Pasta Filletto di Pomodoro (a.k.a Pasta with filleted tomatoes) is an easy to make, light pasta recipe that's ready in no time. The cool part about this dish (which is a version of master Italian chef, Nick Stellino's) is that you can prepare the few portions needed for this recipe ahead of time so you're not rushing to do it all last minute. That being said.let's make some pasta. Pasta Filleto di Pomodoro:. Once the tomatoes...

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard: Bistro Day At Grigal's Palace - Entree: Red Wine Braised Beef Ribs with Balsamic Kale & Silky Yukon Spuds

http://cookingcoolainthard.blogspot.com/2011/10/bistro-day-at-grigals-palace-entree-red.html

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard. Sunday, October 16, 2011. Bistro Day At Grigal's Palace - Entree: Red Wine Braised Beef Ribs with Balsamic Kale and Silky Yukon Spuds. When making this meal, you'll want to start the potatoes about 45 minutes before the ribs are done and save the last 10 minutes for the kale and asparagus.or you can do what you want and just ignore me. 1# Boneless Beef Ribs. 1/4 Cup, All Purpose Flour. 1/2 Yellow Onion, Sliced. 1 Large Garlic Clove (or 2 smaller ones), Chopped. 3/4 Cup Red Wine.

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard: September 2011

http://cookingcoolainthard.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Cooking Cool Ain't Hard. Monday, September 26, 2011. Suuuuuuper Easy and Protein Packed Steak Fajitas. While starting to prepare this dish tonight, I realized that I didn't have any limes - a key element to the marinade - so it was back to the store. As I was pulling in (backwards), I didn't notice that there was a guy on a massive chopper (modified motorcycle), two spots away. I didn't notice because he was concealed by the van in the space next to me. Are you serious dude? Anyways, here's my recipe.

Son and Daughters: January 2014

http://northwoodssonanddaughters.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Our family. One windy afternoon. Captured by our sweet friend and photographer, Sarah. Saturday, January 4, 2014. I *blinked*.and Fall came and went. What a fun fall we had! It was comprised of a few big events, and lots of fun everyday things. Here are our highlights:. Uncle Eddie married sweet Nellie! Though their wedding day was one of the rainiest days I've ever seen, it didn't distract from a beautiful wedding. I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the church! William started ...

Son and Daughters: December 2012

http://northwoodssonanddaughters.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Christmas landing on a Tuesday this year allowed our Christmas celebrations to be spread out over a few days. This makes for more rested children and happier parents! Our first celebration was The Arola Christmas. My mother-in-law is one of six children, so it's a big family! Uncle John and Aunt Kathy hosted it this year in Duluth. There was a great turnout, including the three babies that were born in the past year. So fun to see them all together! Larry, Ashley, and Barb&#4...

Son and Daughters: July 2013

http://northwoodssonanddaughters.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Our dear friends, the Witciks, recently came for their traditional mid-summer visit. We finally have named this event.CAMP SKAUDIS! Camp Skaudis has a little something for everyone: abundant woods to roam or ride the 4-wheeler; a quiet lake to swim, fish, or tube; comfortable couches and quiet (hahaha) to take an afternoon nap; lots of people around to keep you company; and there's always something good to eat. Audrey, Ellie, and Nora loved dancing with E's umbrellas. 5 of our 6...

Son and Daughters: April 2014

Saturday, April 12, 2014. We have lots of fun in our house. It's safe to say that there is never a dull moment! I hope the kids can look back on their childhoods and smile and laugh. Here's just a peek at what we've been up to. Martha is a HUGE part of our life. She's sweet and patient and always up for a hug. We've been working on chores and helping out around the house, now that the kids are getting older. Martha says, "I surrender to this crazy family! Love Love. Love. Nora and William with their perch.

Son and Daughters: May 2014

http://northwoodssonanddaughters.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 17, 2014. A cold snap right after Christmas put us in a vacation planning mood. The warmest place in the US in March is Key West, so we decided on a trip to the Florida Keys. The kids love to fly! After a quick flight to Orlando, we picked up our minivan (the kids are pretty fond of minivans! And we made the drive down to Key Largo, our first destination. After a long winter, the green grass and lush trees were a welcome and glorious sight. Are you feeling the love in this picture? This pic...

Monday, March 18, 2013. Nora turned 3 last week! In many ways, she seems beyond her years. She speaks clearly and conveys her thoughts well. She is very coordinated. She has an incredible memory. But she is just 3, and I am going to do my best to keep her little for as long as I can! We had a William/Nora family birthday party in the beginning of March. It was such fun to be with our families to celebrate the birthdays of our Winter Babies! Make a wish, Nora! Lighting up William's Lego cake! We (haha&#46...

Thursday, October 30, 2014. Our Little Audrey Bea turned 6 in September. We celebrated for almost a month- lucky girl! The celebration started a few weeks before her birthday in Minneapolis. We saw The Little Mermaid at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. What a performance! William, Audrey, and Nora with King Triton. Next stop was The American Girl Doll Store in The Mall of America. Then a quick pose with a Lego girl. The Husband is actually holding the American Girl Doll's hand. What a dad! We had the best ...

Friday, April 19, 2013. It's been an exciting week for our Audrey. She came downstairs early one morning and announced that she could whistle.and she could! William has attempting to whistle for awhile, and Audrey must have been paying attention. Audrey is so happy that she can create such a pretty (and loud) sound from her lips. It's also exciting to be the first kid in the family to whistle! She even got to show off her new skill to her preschool class! It's hard to whistle when you are giggling. Aren'...

Son and Daughters: Island Bound

http://northwoodssonanddaughters.blogspot.com/2014/10/island-bound.html

Monday, October 27, 2014. We spent a long weekend in Mackinac Island, Michigan this summer. The Husband had a conference and the kids and I tagged along. It was our first time on the island.and it surpassed our expectations. It is so quaint! The kids are still talking about our time on "MAC," and can't wait to go back! We took a ferry from the mainland to the island. Here are the kids waiting for our ride. My sweet Audrey on the ferry. She loved the ride! A quick stop for a selfie and a water break.

Tuesday, June 4, 2013. 2013 Spring Vacation: Part 3 of 3. This was the part of the vacation the Husband I were most looking forward to. We decided to try Siesta Key, which is regarded as a 'best beach' in Florida. Siesta Beach is known for its powdery white sand. Our walk to the beach front. All 3 kids claim the beach was their favorite part of the vacation! We made lots of sand castles. William and the Husband checking out a little crab in its shell. Pretending to be sea turtles. Audrey dancing at sunset.
