Cooking in Kirkland: Parmesan Chicken

http://www.cookinginkirkland.blogspot.com/2015/02/parmesan-chicken.html

All my faves in one place. Monday, February 16, 2015. This is a simple meal that makes me feel a little fancy. I like that the chicken is pounded thin and always prefer to use arugula as the greens. Be sure to use seasoned bread crumbs to avoid bland chicken. 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 1 teaspoon Kosher salt. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper. 1 1/4 cups seasoned. 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus extra for serving. Arugula (or other salad greens). 1/2 cup olive oil. Top with additional...

Cooking in Kirkland: Pumpkin Cupcakes

http://www.cookinginkirkland.blogspot.com/2013/11/pumpkin-cupcakes.html

All my faves in one place. Saturday, November 30, 2013. There are always lots of pumpkin recipes floating around this time of year. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of most things pumpkin. I want to like pumpkin because it's festive and I like the idea of it, but, I mostly like pumpkin pie for the whipped cream and sometimes pumpkin cookies and other baked goods are too spongy for my liking. 1 2/3 cup sugar (can be reduced to 1 cup). 1 cup oil (substitution: 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 apple sauce). Cream together c...

All my faves in one place. Sunday, April 5, 2015. 3/4 cup (5 large) egg whites. 10 ounces sweetened shredded coconut. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. In a heavy saucepan combine egg whites, sugar, and shredded coconut. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until all the ingredients combine, about 12 minutes. Cooking in Kirkland: April 2015

http://www.cookinginkirkland.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

All my faves in one place. Saturday, April 18, 2015. While strawberry would never be my first choice of cake flavor, I've been asked a couple times in the last year to make strawberry cupcakes for kids' birthdays. So, instead of looking each time for a recipe, I thought it best to document it here for my own future reference and for anyone out there who loves strawberry cupcakes! Here's me with the birthday girl, all decked out in our princess gear. 1 2/3 cup cake flour * (see note #1 below). Working in ...

A & K Tolton: November 2012

http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Sunday, November 4, 2012. Hello there, everyone! Andy and I are joining the club and having a little baby. Yay! Here he/she is (unfortunately we won't find out the gender until December), but we will be calling it a "he" from here on out to make it easier. Sucking his sweet little thumb. Yes, my friends. That is my pee stick. At least there is a cap on it, though. I said it's for our baby! And then we just hugged and kissed and cried. It was so sweet and we couldn't have been happier.

A & K Tolton: June 2014

http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Monday, June 30, 2014. We've been having a great summer so far! We love the wonderful sunny weather we have been having and it's the saddest day when it's overcast and rainy and we can't go to the park. But that hasn't happened too much, fortunately. I am looking forward to a few more months of wonderful Seattle Summer! I think he liked it and wished I would have left him in to take his nap. Honestly, if I could take a nap in a swing, I would. Sounds wonderful! When we ask for hugs, somet...

A & K Tolton: October 2013

http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. 6 months have gone by since little Logan was born. What? How does that happen so fast? This last month has been a lot of fun with Logan learning new things and trying new foods. Every day he just grows up a little bit more and it breaks my heart.but also puts it right back together because I love seeing him grow and do new things. Some fun things about our 6 month boy:. And if he is a tiny little kid, like his mama, then that's perfectly fine! He sits so well!

A and K Tolton. Monday, May 13, 2013. WowI think that's all I can really say right now. Life has certainly changed.A LOT.in the last 2 weeks. It's changed so much that this little blog has been neglected for quite a while. I think often about things I keep meaning to post (like pictures of Logan's room! But obviously those things just get put on the back-burner when you have a new little baby in the house. One, because you really don't have time to get on the computer and two, you just don't want. A and K Tolton. Wednesday, February 27, 2013. What a wonderful day! First off.let me start off with this picture:. Day I found out I was pregnant. So there I was, going through my pictures and I came across this old picture. You know what I remember feeling when Andy was taking this picture? Holy crap, stop taking pictures because I'm fat in all of them! Really. I thought I was fat then? Oh so funny. because here we are today (well, technically yesterday):. Today is a wonderful day! http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Monday, December 31, 2012. Andy and I had our big ultrasound on Friday, December 21st, just a day before we headed out to Utah for Christmas. The nurse/doctor (ultrasound lady? Well, after checking his bones, heart, kidneys, etc. the ultrasound lady headed down south (or wherever the baby was) to get a good look at the private parts. Immediately when she pointed it down, there was the legs and there was the little pee-pee! Andy was very proud of him (that's really odd to say, huh? I thoug...

A & K Tolton: March 2013

http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. I've had a pretty rough morning.it all started when I chose my outfit. Everything was fitting perfectly, I felt pretty cute. And then. I had to put my shoes on. Not just some old flip flops or flats that I can slip on and off easily - today I had to wear my boots. Why? Because I am wearing leggings. Short pregnant women should not wear leggings without also wearing boots. Now, you might ask, where is the issue? Which he did, of course. And didn't even make f...

A and K Tolton. Sunday, July 28, 2013. Here I go again. one month later and Logan is now 3 MONTHS OLD! The time has flown; I really don't think there have been 3 months in my whole entire life that have gone by this fast. It's so much fun to see Logan grow and develop more and more, yet he's still a little baby that needs his mama and daddy so much. I LOVE it! Here are a few things that Logan has accomplished this month:. Logan has moved into his own room! He is able to grab his toys hanging down from hi...

http://aktolton.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

A and K Tolton. Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Obviously because we had Logan! I think that we were actually pretty good about keeping his presents to a minimum, we only got him 3 (and technically only 2, because one was from my baby shower before he was born, but he's just now big enough to play with it). We went to Andy's parents house on Christmas Eve to celebrate with the family. We ate good food, played games, and watched and laughed at the cute kids! He is getting c...

What's Cooking in Kentucky... | a cooking blog

What's Cooking in Kentucky…. July 19, 2013. OR what if it just doesn’t turn out? The good news is this worked out for the best because this bread is delicious. It isn’t too sweet, but you still get a little of the cinnamon sugar mixture swirled through the loaf. I also saved a little of the sugar/cinnamon mix and sprinkled some on the top. This really was for Alex but I think I ended up eating just as much! The best part is that this is a no knead bread – just mix and bake! 1 cup butter, room temperature.

Cooking in Kenzo

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Has it really been two and a half years since I posted anything here? I've been feeling inspired lately and thought maybe I should try to write a weekly post. Ideally, I'd like to buy a URL, get a custom design, and really try to make something of this, but baby steps. So what's happened since January 2013? 5) We're finally building our new house! It took nearly three years, but we are almost done with the money stuff and a builder is waiting to get to work. Hate on that if you'...

Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Raise your hand if you like supplements! A few people have seen me sprinkling some collagen powder into my coffee in the morning and have cocked their heads like curious golden retrievers, so I figured I'd post about supplements. I take quite a few. Okay, I take a bunch. Duh I don't really agonize over which ones. When I run out, I just get a bottle of regular multi-vitamins from whichever grocery store I happen visit that weekend. And I've been using it for nearly five years.
