The Cooking Romanian: Corn Soup aux homards

http://cookingromanian.blogspot.com/2012/07/corn-soup-aux-homards.html

Recipes, Thoughts on Food, and the Occasional Bout of Philology. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Corn Soup aux homards. Does it seem like there are a lot of soup recipes on this blog? Are you quite sick of soup yet? This particular dish came from a bout of pantry cleaning, and indeed, it is the perfect pantry dish. It could have been made very simply, but I wanted to use some of my fancier ingredients, namely, Coconut Oil. Corn soup aux homards. Large onion, chopped. Coconut oil (or vegetable oil, or ghee).

Recipes, Thoughts on Food, and the Occasional Bout of Philology. Monday, January 19, 2009. This is a quick dish, inspired by the fact that I had a head of cauliflower in the fridge, a roasted red pepper. In the freezer, and some lettuce. Googling around for cauliflower salad ideas, I also chanced upon this. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Workout of the Week: Week 7. Recipes, Thoughts on Food, and the Occasional Bout of Philology. Monday, July 30, 2012. And doesn't the food get cold while it's being photographed? The fact is, I started this blog to motivate myself to cook at home more often. It's worked. I've cooked a lot of amazing, and new, things in the past few years. But I tend to cook in the evening, and there's just no way to get that food to look good. I'm also in a rush, so I'm unlikely to take a dozen perfect photos of process. Sorry. Which I liked because ...

The Cooking Romanian: October 2008

http://cookingromanian.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Recipes, Thoughts on Food, and the Occasional Bout of Philology. Friday, October 10, 2008. Because I have this recipe from my grandmother, the measures are a little haphazard. I don't bake at all, but the recipe seemed to work anyway, so it may just be the case that precision is not that important. 200 g unsalted butter. 2 glasses (around 200 mL each) white sugar. Half a glass of milk. After the mixture has cooled, add:. 1 and 3/4 glasses of flour (with a pinch of salt added). Lemon or orange peel, grated.

Kerstkraut. (Of misschien toch kapoesta kvasjenaja provansal). November 11, 2014. November 11, 2014.

The Cooking Romanian

Recipes, Thoughts on Food, and the Occasional Bout of Philology. Sunday, September 23, 2012. Stalking the Wild Chestnut. It's Saturday afternoon, the baby won't nap, and we decide it's time to go for a walk. Berlin is in full-on fall mode, and we want to walk around as long as we still can. So we bundle the kiddo into his stroller, and head to Hasenheide. And it was a goldmine - the wind was blowing hard, scattering more chestnuts down. I pulled two plastic bags from my purse, originally meant for di...
