Welcome to the Coast Guard. On June 28th the new cadets report for duty at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Reporting-in Day. The "Swabs" as they are called go through an intensive summer session as they prepare to become cadets in the fall. Made Over to the Extreme. Friday Dec. 12, 2008. I do not normally do this, but here are some shots from this weeks Extreme Makeover: Home Edtion frenzy. Working with Hollywood up-close can be a trying experience, doing it in a cold rain can really make you crazy. However, I really like some of these shots (above and below for example) and the cause was a good one. I have just never been a huge fan of the media blitz. It was a busy Saturday afternoon with covering five games (three different sports) in five different locations over a 2 1/2 hour period. All these games were shot for either the Evening Telegraph or Courier so I basically tried to get two decent frames from each game. Canon EOS 40D - f2.8 , 1/1600th ISO320. I woke up and it was May! So it has been a bit since I have post here. Fear not, the simple reason is that I have been too busy. Here are some of the better photos that I have taken since.November ( oh the shame of it. Homeless Memorial walk and vigil. Breast cancer reconstruction surgery. Polar plunge of some form (. Tea Party tax day rally at the State Capital. A neighbor uses a garden hose to protect his home. A homeowner watches on as her house burns. Teacher of the Year named in a "surprise" fashion.
