Saturday, September 18, 2010. We are at twelve-and-a-half weeks, so we begin the process of announcing our pregnancy. first up: my parents! And then screams, "are you serious? And starts crying. my dad reads the card and gets the classic "dad smile" he gets when he is really happy. it was just the reaction i was hoping for. Today is my first doctor's appointment, and they mostly just confirm that my home pregnancy test was accurate. turns out i really am preggers. they ask me lots of questions about my history and health, tell me what to avoid during pregnancy, give me some literature, and tell me i need to go get blood work done. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Two lines appear almost immediately. my suspicions have been confirmed: i am going to have a baby. We are both giddy with excitement, and the whole weekend is spent discussing babies and parenthood and pregnancy. we start calling baby "blasto" (short for blastocyst), even though he was a blastocyst for a very short time before we even knew about the pregnancy. later on we find a more appropriate name: "embry" (short for embryo). Friday, September 24, 2010. This week we spend a few days at disneyland, then head up to monterey where brad has some continuing legal education classes to attend. A notebook with notes from brad, a note from my brother, and so on. i hate jerks with no sense of right and wrong. Nauseous, i am actually going to throw up. right now. i pull over to the side of the road, open the car door, and vomit on the roadside while still strapped into my seatbelt. All in all, it was a very long, very eventful week.

July 27, 2007: horse races at del mar. it was a fun activity sponsored by brad's firm. we loved it, and came out about $20 ahead. July 29, 2007: angels game versus the detroit tigers, at angel's stadium. the angels won.
