Ornamental Grass
http://www.cooltropicalplants.com/Ornamental-grass.html
Cool Tropical Plants . Com. Exotic trees and shrubs. The following ornamental grass and grass like plants will help to lend a touch of the tropics to your tropical garden. Using ornamental grass in the tropical garden helps to add a bit of drama to the scene. Although some of the grasses mentioned here die back or rather turn brown in the winter, they begin growth early in the spring. They are generally fast growing plants and rapidly offer the garden some height.
Paulownia tomentosa
http://www.cooltropicalplants.com/Paulownia-tomentosa.html
Cool Tropical Plants . Com. Exotic trees and shrubs. Paulownia tomentosa - The Foxglove tree. Paulownia tomentosa- the foxglove tree is probably too big for most gardens. However if it is cut back to the ground each year (stooled), it produces enormous leaves that can be used to good effect in your tropical style garden. It is hardy to at least zone 9. Left to its own devices the tree will look like this:. The leaves are relatively small and less rounded compared to the stooled version. Cut off the stem&...
Miscanthus grass
http://www.cooltropicalplants.com/Miscanthus-grass.html
Cool Tropical Plants . Com. Exotic trees and shrubs. There are many different varieties of Miscanthus grass. The ones of most interest to the cooler climate tropical gardener are the giant Miscanthus or fountain grasses. Alternatively you can buy your plants later. Keep them in pots until the frost come. Once you have tidied up after the first frost plant them out ready for the following year. Some suppliers sell bare clumps of rhizome during the winter. This is probably the best route to take as the...

Elephant ear plant
http://www.cooltropicalplants.com/Elephant-ear-plant.html
Cool Tropical Plants . Com. Exotic trees and shrubs. Xanthosoma sagittifolium or Coco yam. Clocasia esculenta var. antiquorum (Eddoe). Elephant ear plant - Xanthosoma growing in a border of mixed tropical foliage. Tubers of the elephant ear plant -Xanthosoma. A lone coco yam (non-spherical example). Once you have made your purchase, it is important to turn your back and walk away. You can't save them all from the pot. Be thankful that you can give life to the few you were able to save. Next you need to p...

Tales of Growing Tropical Plants: Allotment Tuesday!!
http://togtp.blogspot.com/2013/03/allotment-tuesday.html
Tuesday, 5 March 2013. So, I've just been dropped off at the allotment! Looks like its gonna be the warmest day of the year so far though so it should be worth it. Nice steaming hot pile of manure to be whacking in our compost bins! And I'm all good to go with the rotovator and the plants I've recently bought (asparagus, rhubarb, raspberrys, blackberrys, red currants and a couple of trees) and all the onion sets, garlic and potatoes! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Sorrento, Italy 2008.

http://togtp.blogspot.com/2010/04/where-on-earth-have-you-been.html

Well I did mention when first starting this blog that I've never managed to keep it up for more than a few months, and I'm not on for breaking traditions! And hopefully help me not to lose so many plants over Winter as well, but let's not go there ;) lol. So, the past few weeks I've been getting busy again in the garden, full of another burst of motivation, so keep checking in for (hopefully) regular posts once again! 2 December 2010 at 05:55.

Saturday, 28 February 2009. Well, having just spent a little time pottering and tidying in the garden, I've decided to start having a sort through the seed box and actually get myself organized as far as seed sowing is concerned this year!
