This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees. With the warm weather almost upon us, it’s time to lay down the vines along the fruiting wire. Depending on the maturity and size of the vines, I either laid one or two canes along the wire, with buds at the ready. This WordPress.com site is the bee's knees. After some chilly days…the winter pruning at Copdock Hall is complete. We needed to cut back the spurs on the weaker vines quite aggressively, and less so on the stronger ones leaving one or two arms depending on the vigour. You also have to ensure a clean cut so it meant sharpening the secateurs regularly. Still, it’s done now so now we await the warmer weather and bud time. This entry was posted in Uncategorized.
