The Heart of a Woman. How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bottle. It’s taken me a while (almost 2 years) to finally feel ready to really talk about my breastfeeding experience on the blog. I wrote a bit about it here. 38 weeks pregnant and completely clueless. Then I had a baby. A real, live crying baby. One that took 30 hours to be born. One who required three hours of pushing and forceps in order to make it out. She was perfect. Until she tried to nurse. By the time we left the hospital that ni...

A Wedding, Some Zoos, and Lots of Summer Fun – 7QT. August 7, 2015. Summer is flying by, and between getting our house ready for showings, picking out things for the new house, and practicing music for a wedding reception we performed in, I have hardly blogged at all (not that I haven’t wanted to! My husband’s cousin got married last weekend. My girls haven’t been to a wedding in several years (and don’t remember the ones they have been to), so they were extremely excited. Before. It’s primaril...The bri...

The Freegas Band – Motherhood and Miscellany

September 4, 2013. July 22, 2016. For Part 2 of my Live! At Lake Thunderhead 2013 series I’d like to write a little bit about the band. There is much about the band that shall remain a mystery, as I am not privy to its inner workings. Though I am. In the band in that I sing songs with them at the Labor Day Party, I’m not really. The band in that I’m a girl. See, this band is not a functioning. But I digress. Let me introduce you to the four originals. Bass player, vocalist, and sometimes drummer. Per...

On Humility (or Lack Thereof). August 10, 2015. Last Thursday, we had our beginning-of-the-year, meet-the-new-members Little Flowers Girls’ Club. Picnic. During the picnic, Miss was going to be getting her final badges to finish up her Wreath I. Lass was getting “sashed” in the Sashing Ceremony as a new member. We were all excited for the start of the new Little Flowers year. So when we started this new year, I was excited to see that there are now adorable vests. I decided to get a vest for Lass, and to...

Saint Affairs: Up the Ski Slope
http://www.saintaffairs.com/2015/07/up-ski-slope.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Up the Ski Slope. Once most of us were back on flat land we quickly realized we had ticks in and on our shoes, so we took them off, and stuck them in a bag. Ugh, ticks are the worst! Then we waited until everyone was back from the hike before heading to the lake house. When we got back to the house, someone asked how the hike went, and I quickly responded, "It was probably the worst hike of my life. But I am happy I did it.". Up the Ski Slope. What are you working on currently? Have you finished any projects recently? For a the full description of needlework.

October 25, 2016. October 26, 2016. This morning, as I wrote on my to-do list a series of tasks related to “figure out where to put ”, I had an epiphany. We have too much stuff. I’m constantly purging stuff, packing stuff away, trying to pawn stuff off on other people. Even little old me, who likes to consider herself a minimalist, cannot stem the tide of. It clutters my mind and raises up some serious questions about how I’m using our resources. Because others (actually, most. So, I’ve challenged ...
