Copy Edit. Proof. Publishing and All That Goes With It. Copywriting, Editing and Proofreading. A Unique Redefinition of… Something. Posted by Camille Gooderham Campbell in Hall of Shame. We don’t ban people from submitting stories to Every Day Fiction. Often Hardly at all, in fact. I could count them on one hand over the past… well, almost seven years now. Refuses to see that appropriating someone else’s text is wrong. This one goes in the Hall of Shame, for sure. Picture Me Blinking In Astonishment.

Copy Edit. Proof. Publishing and All That Goes With It. Copywriting, Editing and Proofreading. REVIEW: Someone Else’s Skin Sarah Hilary. Posted by Camille Gooderham Campbell in Book Reviews. I knew from the first time I read one of Sarah Hilary’s flash fiction stories (“ Lolita’s Lynch Mob. 8220;, back in 2007) that she’d be someone to watch. I was not surprised at all to hear that she’d got an agent and then a book deal and I was thrilled to bits when an advance review copy of. Someone Else’s Skin.

Copy Edit. Proof. Publishing and All That Goes With It. Copywriting, Editing and Proofreading. Your Past May Be Out There. Posted by Camille Gooderham Campbell in Random Thoughts. Today I discovered that I still have a MySpace profile. Remember MySpace? It was under an old email address to which I no longer have access, so I’m lucky I was able to make an educated guess at the password and get in to sweep away the cobwebs and tidy the place up. A bit of dust gathers after seven years, you know? Their last...

April 24, 2016. May 21, 2016. The lightning flashed, illuminating the fleeing figure as she streaked down the lane in red trainers. Thunder boomed, and the rain hammered down, soaking her jeans through and turning her long hair to wet rags which flapped out behind her like washing on a line as she ran. I wrote this piece a little while ago for a flash fiction competition which it didn’t win, so thought I would post here. Via a href=” http:/ photopin.com” photopin /a>. The Holly Bears a Berry. June 27, 2016. It was noon before I finally made it out of bed. I had woken with a thirst, and could not claw back the bliss of sleep no matter how hard I tried. The events of the evening before were returning to me in scattered fragments that I struggled to piece together. I opened the front door to take out the kitchen bin, and nearly tripped over the object that had been left there. This wasn’t the first time she had left a peace offering; what would it be this time? Inside the tin was a large chocola...

Calm | rebeccafieldwriting
https://rebeccafieldwriting.wordpress.com/2016/10/05/calm
October 5, 2016. October 5, 2016. I wonder if perhaps I failed to capture the essence of the prompt word (which was calm) with this entry to last week’s Ad Hoc Fiction competition, but I just couldn’t help myself. Well I enjoyed writing it anyway, even if the feeling wasn’t shared by the voting public! It was no good. He stormed from the kitchen, letting the door slam shut behind him. Someone had eaten his prawn sandwich and he wasn’t about to let it go. There would be hell to pay. Posted in Flash fiction.

August 27, 2016. Here is another recent non-winning Ad Hoc Flash Fiction entry; the prompt word was ‘flex’. Just a Small Prick. I clocked him in the busy waiting area as I hurried through to my clinic room. He was berating the receptionist; something about parking, in a hurry to get to work. Isn’t everyone? I thought, hoping he wasn’t my patient. I showed him to the couch in my room, and took the form he thrust at me. No point attempting small talk with this one, I thought as I washed my hands. February 22, 2016. March 17, 2016. He glanced at the clock on his dashboard; how long had he been driving? He wondered. It felt as if he had been travelling for hours; he was feeling a little tired. He couldn’t recall seeing any road signs recently; perhaps he hadn’t been paying close enough attention. Which junction did he need? After a while he noticed that his hands were cold. He had left his gloves at home, or had he? Confused, he drifted momentarily into the next lane and another lorry came blaring ...

A Trip to the Zoo. March 25, 2016. March 26, 2016. Bernard exclaimed excitedly; his quivering finger pointing at the disappearing rear-end in the bushes. Candice struggled to summon up the same level of enthusiasm for the spiky egg-laying mammals; Bernard had talked of little else since their meeting at the gate. Dolores had been right to ask what sort of man would suggest the zoo for a first date. Echidnas are endangered you know. Folk hunt them for food in New Guinea; can you believe that? Sighing, Can...
