Our Adventures: Antigua - Water and Sand
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2012/11/antigua-water-and-sand.html
Saturday, November 17, 2012. Antigua - Water and Sand. One of the best things about going to Green Island was the seclusion. There were several different beaches you could be be dropped off at, but the best one for snorkelling was Ten Pound Beach which was home to a couple of palm trees and not much else for that proper deserted island feel! The snorkelling itself was good and the visibility was top rate. We saw a whole host of different fish than we had seen at Green Island and also a reef shark! Ricky ...

Our Adventures: Fancy a Cuppa? Afternoon Tea in London
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2013/01/fancy-cuppa-afternoon-tea-in-london.html
Saturday, January 05, 2013. Afternoon Tea in London. Afternoon Tea is one of those quintessential British activities and though we have done it in Devon and the Cotswolds, we haven't had High Tea in a posh London hotel. We didn't want to go to a big place like the Ritz or Dorchester, so instead we found a small out of the way hotel in Knightsbridge, so still plenty posh! The Egerton House Hotel. All in all we had an very relaxed three and a half hours enjoying how the other half, or 1%, live! Faryl Smith...

Our Adventures: August 2012
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 04, 2012. The London 2012 Olympics. The real highlight for us was the opportunity to go to a live Olympic event, Beach Volleyball. On a partially sunny afternoon, it is Britain after all, we went along with our friends Oliver and Pascale to Horse Guards Parade. It was certainly a massive difference from our efforts on North Avenue beach back in Chicago all those years ago! We saw two men’s and two women’s matches and all were very exciting as we saw the world champion women&#...Photos of...

Wednesday, September 05, 2012. The London 2012 Paralympics - Meet the Superhumans. Following our wonderful experience at the London 2012 Olympics Beach Volleyball and hearing about people's trips to the Olympic Park, we were lucky enough to secure tickets to the Paralympics. The tagline for television coverage here in the UK was 'Meet the Superhumans' and boy were they right! The Paralympics features athletes with a variety of disabilities, and therefore there is a rather extensive classification system ...

Our Adventures: Ice Skating at Somerset House
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2013/01/ice-skating-at-somerset-house.html
Wednesday, January 02, 2013. Ice Skating at Somerset House. The Christmas season in London is not complete without a trip to one of the ice skating rinks they put up at famous landmarks around the city. There are temporary rinks in Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, Tower of London and Somerset House. We have been to all of them except the Natural History Museum, which is usually overrun with kids, but we have not skated at Somerset House in the evening, when it is a touch more romantic! Faryl Smith ...

Our Adventures: May 2011
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 01, 2011. On the long Easter weekend we went for our first cycle ride of the year. Nothing serious, just a little jaunt with a picnic to enjoy the glorious weather. After our picnic we decided to take a random path instead of going back along the roads. The path led through the woods to the entrance of Heartwood Forest, a mixture of existing ancient woodland and freshly planted baby trees. We cycled through the lovely wooded areas and were treated to absolute carpets of bluebells. After a fai...

Our Adventures: February 2012
http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 05, 2012. A Snowy Sunday in the Park. After a fairly drab winter, snow flurries finally started falling last night around 6pm. By the time we went to bed there were 2 or 3 inches so we set the alarm to ensure an early snowy morning wake-up. It wasn't sunny, but there were at least 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground and we had two hyper active labradors - so to the park! Can you still spot our snow family? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our Adventures: December 2012

Friday, December 28, 2012. Exploring Hampton Court Palace. After more than eight years living in Britain, we finally made our way to one of the most famous palaces, and also one of the most convenient to London, Hampton Court Palace. It is actually two palaces that have been melded together right along the banks of the River Thames, just west of Richmond and just east of Windsor. The ornate and opulent interior is quite something, even though the exterior is not overly sumptuous. Visions of Our Adventures.
