Milgeek UK: World of Warships - Some (a lot of) thoughts
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2015/08/world-of-warships-some-lot-of-thoughts.html
Wednesday, 5 August 2015. World of Warships - Some (a lot of) thoughts. Having played WoWs pretty intensively over the past few weeks I have decided I have pretty much got a firm grasp of the game and so thought it was about time to record some of my thoughts about it and it's pros and cons. My latest ship - the mighty Pensacola cruiser. I might as well get straight in there and tackle what I think might be one of the greatest criticisms of the game - repetitiveness and monotony. Gameplay 'tactics' (such...

Milgeek UK: July 2015
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 16 July 2015. Airsoft - AK-105 upgrade project Pt. 1. Ironically, for saying that (in theory) I have 'given up airsofting'. I find myself undertaking an AEG upgrade project! The classic 'lean' Russian AK-105 format. As 'tactical' as anyone needs really? The AEG I am going to be doing the work on is my Kalash AK-105. The 105 was perhaps - in my opinion - the most beautiful AK ever designed (although when talking about Kalashnikovs 'beauty' is, perhaps, a relative concept). Russian Army publicity...

Milgeek UK: World of Tanks - My Top 5 Tanks
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2013/05/world-of-tanks-my-top-5-tanks.html
Friday, 24 May 2013. World of Tanks - My Top 5 Tanks. Well, after so long playing this game it's about time I did a post on my favourite tanks. Two things will be surprising about this list; first of all four out of five of these tanks are tier VI or below, and secondly tow of these tanks are from my non-Premium 'free' account (which goes to show you can have fun without spending money on WoT)! My five favorite tanks. 5 VK 30.01 (H) - Germany (Tier VI Medium Tank). As a tier VI with a tier VII gun you ei...

Milgeek UK: World of Warplanes - Gameplay
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2013/07/world-of-warplanes-gameplay.html
Monday, 15 July 2013. World of Warplanes - Gameplay. Well, it didn't take long to figure out what was going on! And that's a good thing as the whole ethos of the 'World of.' games is the ease with which players can grasp how to play. My take on the game's victory conditions are this - remember the ticket system in Battlefield 2, where achieving goals within the game ticked down the enemies 'tickets'? As you can see play (combat) soon gets spread out and I had time to reflect that WoWP is just like that c...

Milgeek UK: Summer events - Naval Warfare
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2013/07/summer-events-naval-warfare.html
Thursday, 18 July 2013. Summer events - Naval Warfare. The brilliant weather - and the pending holiday of my teacher wife - marks the start of the visiting season. I have an ambitious itinerary this summer but at the top of the list is a local event that I have taken for-granted in all the time I have lived in Scarborough - the famous Naval Warfare battle on Peasholme Park lake. Just one half of the audience for the Naval Battle - young and old were. Enthusiastically and equally enthralled by the show.

Milgeek UK: KWA/PTS advanced electric blowback
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2013/09/kwapts-advanced-electric-blowback.html
Sunday, 8 September 2013. KWA/PTS advanced electric blowback. One thing that has surprised me is that during my absence from airsoft over the past couple of years that now I have returned there isn't any great advance in AEG design. Now most would say 'if it ain't broke don't fix it', but when the industry has - it seems - run out of ideas about new replica designs you might have thought that they would turn their ingenuity to technical innovation? New innovation pay for itself. Anyway - the KWA/PTS soun...

Milgeek UK: Battlefield and airsoft weekend, oh my!
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2013/11/battlefield-and-airsoft-weekend-oh-my.html
Monday, 4 November 2013. Battlefield and airsoft weekend, oh my! It's been a hectic weekend for Milgeek! After a long time when not really all that much has been going on it seems like everything is all happening at once. This weekend saw the release of Battlefield 4, which is sorta a big deal if you like military FPS computer games, and also I made my return to airsoft. My favourite BF4 map so far - Parcel Storm. This makes impressive use. BATTLEFIELD 4 - RETURN OF THE MONSTER. In the case of the BF ser...

Milgeek UK: Russian Tactical AK upgrades - Part 2
http://milgeekuk.blogspot.com/2015/08/russian-tactical-ak-upgrades-part-2.html
Sunday, 9 August 2015. Russian Tactical AK upgrades - Part 2. I'll start off by saying that I had originally conceived this project as an upgrade for my AK-105, but having seen the range of terrific modern Russian AK accessories - by the likes of Zenico - I have decided to expand this project to include my good old AK-74MN. Russian mussel breaks and flash hiders, old and new. Compensator (24mm thread) before discovering the lovely stubby Zenitco DTC-2. Top: the DTC-2. Botom: Tactika Tula 'Coyote'. As I m...
