We've had the great blessing of having Mike's older brother, Curtis, and his family here also in New Orleans. It has been fantastic to be close to family and they have been such a huge help. And it's been great for Lydia to have 4 cousins to play with (and a fifth on the way)! Here is the oldest, Emily 9,and Lydia. Lydia is getting so big and so smart! Here is a picture of her clapping. And Santa made a special appearance there to visit Lydia! It's actually my Dad, he's got quite the outfit! The simple adventures of our highly entertaining little family. Thursday, July 27, 2006. Mike's Mom and Pop and sister Angie came for our nephew Matthew's baptism on Sunday. It was so great! And they stayed with us in our real house! And we were able to give Mom and Pop a whole room to themselves! Sure, they slept on a mattress on the floor but they had a door! We had a birthday party at Curtis and Kristi's house for our beautiful daughter, and here is what happened. She wasn't sure what to do once the cake was in front of her. She decided that she was tired of Mommy breaking her peanutbutter and honey sandwich into bite-size pieces and that she could eat it all by herself. She did that really well. She also tried to eat the applesauce by herself, however, after getting frustrated with her lack of spoon control, she went to alternative methods of eating. She found this much more efficient. The simple adventures of our highly entertaining little family. Friday, May 19, 2006. We have a piano! We never thought we'd own a piano for another ten years at least. But last week we went to our niece's piano recital at a baptist church and saw the church was getting rid of a couple old ones that had been in their attic for years. for FREE! So we called the number, positive they were already spoken for, but to our surprise we were the first callers (this is obviously not Utah)! Anyway we're so excited!
