Cori's notes from russia. My personal blog, not affiliated with CLS, the State Department, or American Councils. Sunday, August 15, 2010. The last week was pretty relaxing compared to the one before. Friday, August 6, 2010. Our trip was really nice. The train ride was about 12 hours, and luckily we had air conditioning. We rode in 3. Class, which was a first for me. I normally ride 2. Class, which has 4 beds per compartment: two lower and two upper. 3. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Cori's notes from russia. My personal blog, not affiliated with CLS, the State Department, or American Councils. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Third time's a charm. I'm back for another summer in Vladimir. Each time feels familiar, but different in its own way. A lot of that has to do with what's been going on in my life during the year. But that's a different blog altogether. I've been in Russia since June 15. I slept pretty much until 5 pm on the 16th, and then caught a train for Nizhny Novgorod.

Cori's notes from russia. My personal blog, not affiliated with CLS, the State Department, or American Councils. Monday, July 30, 2012. The Russia that I used to know. Now, you still have to stand in an absurdly long, slow line to get this done, but I think the kiosks that print out e-reservations for the Russian Railway are about to get to a critical mass. But even aside from train tickets, things are just working. The way they should. Here are a few things that have been observed this summer:. Not to m...

Well, in Russia, the doctor comes to see you. By dialing quick help, the operator evaluates whether or not you need to go to the clinic. Its better for you stay home than be on the bus or even in a taxi and in the clinic, bringing your germs outside of your apartment. Sunday, July 11, 2010. The Great Russian Heatwave of 2010.

cori's notes from russia: Already feeling at home
http://coritravels.blogspot.com/2011/06/already-feeling-at-home.html
Cori's notes from russia. My personal blog, not affiliated with CLS, the State Department, or American Councils. Friday, June 24, 2011. Already feeling at home. It was rough until the weekend, and on Saturday night I could hardly sleep. Part of it was coffee too late in the afternoon, and part of it was nerves: the students arrived on Sunday. So I got an hour of sleep at home, and hour on the bus to the airport, and an hour on the way back. I stayed up by going out to the movies ( Super 8. I've been read...

Cori's notes from russia. My personal blog, not affiliated with CLS, the State Department, or American Councils. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Щи да каша, пища наша (Cabbage soup and porridge are our food). The next craving to satisfy was Korean carrot salad. One of the few spicy dishes found in many Russian delis.
