Wednesday, December 30, 2009. The next week we celebrated Evie's birthday with friends and family with a birthday party at a nearby park. She was very excited and overwhelmed with all of the gifts that she got. I think she most enjoyed hanging out with her little friends and playing at the playground. Saturday, August 29, 2009. Cramming it all in. Her favorite- hanging with the sea lions. Yes, that really is Shamu! He just kept swimming around and Evie loved watching him. She liked the starfish too! Stopped by the little Japanese gardens and giant bell, so looking forward to our upcoming trip to Japan! Playing at the new Sesame Street kids park in Sea World. We decided to let Evie try some seaweed to prepare for our upcoming trip to Japan and a possible encounter with sushi! Monday, August 17, 2009.

Saturday, March 28, 2009. Say it ain't so! In the last three days, Evie has decided to give up the pacifier for her thumb! What do I do when she becomes "too old" to be sucking her thumb? Sunday, May 31, 2009. Tim's sister Aimee gave birth to Abby this past week. We were so excited for a new niece and cousin to join the family! While Aimee and Dave were at the hospital, we kept their oldest, Ella, overnight. She did great! Posted by Tim, Kim, and Evie. The Shields joined us for a hike at Torrey Pines and then a dinner picnic at the beach. Evie loved the sand and even tasted a bit. Thursday, June 11, 2009. Some highlights from this month inlude: two teeth (loves biting), pulls hair (that hurts), mastered sitting up on her own, over 14 lbs(! Started eating solid foods (loves squash), first fall off the bed (probably shouldn't admit that), admires herself in the mirror, peek-a-boo, loves to play the piano with mom, no more baby bath/baby bathchair- she's in the big bathtub now, loves to dance (especially to ABBA, thanks G-Ma!
