It's 3:31am and I can hear the wind through the trees and the rain coming down in sheets and apparently we're not supposed to have hurricane force winds for another hour. What we're experiencing here in The Woodlands right now are tropical storm force winds and all I have to say is wow! Wednesday, September 17, 2008. After 3 1/2 days of mooching a wonderfully air conditioned room, food and being pests in general at my in law's house, we are now home :) The kids miss Mike and Angee's already - in fact Ben was asking tonight when he gets to see them again, lol. When I told him it was time to go the response was 'no! I don't want to leave Auggie! Most everything is open, it's business as usual. Now our cleanup begins. Ben and Auggie doggy chillin' watching Pokemon.

Friday, September 12, 2008. It's 12:45pm and we're here at the house just having a rather lazy day. I've taken the opportunity to do my laundry (how exciting! Being that we're supposed to be at home today. We lasted four hours before we went out to see if we could see any of the crazy traffic that is supposedly dogging Houston. Looking out at the I-45N from the frontage road there were next to no cars. A good sign I would say, that people have heeded warnings and got out when they needed to.

Friday, September 12, 2008. Where in the world is Ike? Latest forecasts show hurricane force winds descending upon The Woodlands around 3am, with the eye of Ike passing over us around 11am. We are now expecting up to 12 inches of rain which The Woodlands bayous are prepared for. This will probably be my last post for the evening as we're going to head to bed shortly in the hopes of getting a bit of sleep before the show begins in the wee hours.
