Kernewek Lowender and the Copper Coast. June 28, 2015. When I relocated to South Australia, little did I know that I was following in the footsteps of thousands of Cornish folk who came before me. In the mid 1800’s the discovery of copper in SA’s Yorke Peninsula prompted a swathe of Cornish miners to emigrate and set up home on what is now known as the Copper Coast. In honour of its heritage, every other year the world’s largest Cornish festival takes place right here in SA. Kernewek Lowender, meaning.

A south bound road trip. October 17, 2015. Spring has sprung and it has been quite divine. The native flora and fauna are blooming, the clocks have leapt forward an hour and sunset walks on the beach have resumed. Spring in the city. Evenings at the beach. Just a month into the season so far and we have enjoyed some cracking surf and sunshine, with booties removed and summer suits in full swing. The views and blues of Waitpinga beach. Parsons beach, SA. A place to watch the world go by. The Pink Lake, SA.

The Coral Coast and south. September 4, 2016. To celebrate Theo’s birthday we decided to head north to experience some warmer climes and see a part of Australia that we hadn’t yet fully explored. We’d been talking about a winter escape to the Sunshine Coast for a while. We love a good road trip so we were lucky to discover that Apollo Campers were offering a camper van relocation. Cardigans and Cornish Hens. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. The stuffed squash held us through the waiting of last night's election. I don't think there's anything better to calm the soul and ease the mind than good food. Thank goodness for the election results and thank goodness for red wine and butter. (I must note here that I actually cannot eat dairy so henceforth read all 'butter' as the wonder that is soy-free Nature Balance.). Moving on, sigh. These are the days I am reminded of mulleted people.
