Lucy's Cottage: Happy Halloween Everyone
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/10/happy-halloween-everyone.html
Saturday, 31 October 2015. Fire lit, pumpkin carved, peppermint tea steeping and a good book to read :). Apart from walking the dogs and carving pumpkins (I did one for our friends too), I've done NOTHING today. I feel guilty, but less tired as a result. Tonight we're having food from the freezer for our dinner and I'm going to do some warm spiced apple juice as neither of us wants to drink alcohol this evening. The fire is roaring and I'm ready to hibernate! Happy Halloween everyone,. Days of Quiet Refl...

Lucy's Cottage: November 2015
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 November 2015. One Cold November Day. This morning we wrapped up warm and took the dogs to Cod Beck Reservoir at Osmotherley - one of their favourite spots. While we shivered in the wind the dogs swam in the freezing cold water and had a ball of a time. It was good to breathe in the fresh air, smell the damp pine needles and watch the geese swimming and trying to avoid the dogs! Below are some pictures of our garden which I took this morning. The Autumn-flowering "mums" are glorious:). Today ...

Lucy's Cottage: November
http://lucys-cottage.blogspot.com/2015/11/november.html
Sunday, 1 November 2015. The tree outside our front door. Golden light is turning grey,. Mists begin to rule the day. Bare the trees their branches lift,. Clouds of dead leaves earthwood drift. Through the field the farmer goes,. Seeds of ripened corn he sows,. Trusts the earth will hold it warm,. Shelter it from cold and harm. For he knows that warmth and light. Love there, hidden from our sight,. And beneath a sheltering wing. Deep below new life will spring. 1 November 2015 at 07:06. I sort of have a ...

Cocopopia: A Tropical Beach On The Edge of Town
http://cocopopia.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-tropical-beach-on-edge-of-town.html
A Cornucopia of Life on the South Coast of England. Wednesday, 22 July 2015. A Tropical Beach On The Edge of Town. Some people like a sandy beach, others prefer pebbles but personally, I like both and each have their good points and bad points. Our local beaches are very pebbly which is no good for building sandcastles but they don't half give your legs a work-out trying to walk on the uneven surface. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cocopopia: December 2014
http://cocopopia.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
A Cornucopia of Life on the South Coast of England. Thursday, 25 December 2014. Seasons Greetings to all of my blog readers. Links to this post. Tuesday, 23 December 2014. Home made raspberry gin - the perfect winter tipple. In October of last year, you may have read my post. To get it from the jar to the bottle, I used some small coffee filter papers to drain the liquid into a clean glass measuring jug (which filters out any bits) and then poured directly from the jug into a kilner preserving bottle.

Cocopopia: May 2015
http://cocopopia.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A Cornucopia of Life on the South Coast of England. Friday, 29 May 2015. Our Own Personal Springwatch Continues. Continuing on the theme of wildlife in our garden (well, in this case, the next door neighbours' gardens) . The neighbours on one side had a fox fast asleep in broad daylight - unusual for around here as the local foxes seem to be quite shy and keep a low profile. I was concerned it may have been unwell, but it had disappeared about 20 minutes later. Links to this post. Thursday, 28 May 2015.
