Monday, 6 May 2013. My belongings are all but packed. When I moved to the lodge, I had little. Now I have even less. This upsets me. It's strange, though. Monday, 24 March 2014. I've been on holiday. Not a long holiday, just a week. It doesn't explain my absence, I know. Sicily is hot sunshine, opposed to the cold rain in Cornwall. The food there leaves explosions of taste in your mouth, the streets are full of people and food markets, even the language is poetic and flamboyant. Here, the food is served soggy or part-cold, there's no attention to it.it is 'fast food', and lacking in nutrition. Going up Mount Etna was fascinating. Sicily was fascinating...

Sunday, 15 December 2013. I thought I had better check, but I left the ' enough. She sounded suspicious, so I changed the subject. For ten minutes, we chatted about random things. I knew I was delaying the question, but there had to be a perfect moment, right? The stars really were perfect that night, the moon was just starting to rise behind us. Friday, 26 October 2012. The weekend is here. I'm sat beside a roaring fire (I might have put too much wood on it in my excitement.and my impatience to get the fire going.) and waiting for the arrival of that someone special. She shouldn't be too much longer but already my stomach is in knots with excitement. Life does take strange turns when you least expect it, doesn't it? Open fires always bring out philosophical ideas in me. Maybe because the flames themselves remind me so much of life in motion.
