I’ve coined a new word, or, more precisely, I’ve coined a new meaning for an old word, just as Stephen Colbert did with “truthiness.” My new word is “edentulous,” which most dictionaries currently define as “lacking teeth,” describing either an organism that lost its teeth or never had them. As far as I can tell, there is no record of the word having been used in this way (except when I used it on Facebook recently), but maybe in a few years, that will change.
