Billet Doux & Little Mercuries: December 2014
http://billetdouxandlittlemercuires.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 7 December 2014. The season is upon us once again for those of us who celebrate Christmas. The focus has changed, for a time, from writing letters to sending holiday greetings to friends. At this time of the year I'm always reminded of a young letter writer who was thinking very hard about Christmas. Her name was Laura Virginia O’Hanlon. Francis Pharcellus Church wasted no time in responding to Virginia’s query: “Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus? 8221; Church’s beautiful and...

Billet Doux & Little Mercuries: November 2014
http://billetdouxandlittlemercuires.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 22 November 2014. Sadly, the Blue Boar no longer exists. My husband tells me the style of writing upon the seal is consistent with a date early in the 19. I pressed the seal into clay to show the design better. Attempts at pressing the seal in wax were unsuccessful, sadly. Whatever its original purpose, this little wax seal had quite a story to tell, wouldn't you say? Labels: history of our house. Monday, 17 November 2014. In addition to my. Saturday, 1 August 2015. Some of my stamp albums. I carried my stamp in a purse like this.
