Scribblings From Stratters And Tales From Toots". Thursday, 13 August 2015. There was post waiting for me in my locker at work today. An official letter from HR or BBC People or whatever they call themselves these days, a lovely postcard from a photographer I've got to know through Twitter who's on holiday in Greece and a card from a listener. So thank YOU, Peter of Dublin. You really cheered my day. And your biro was a beautiful blue. Posted by Corrie Corfield. Thursday, 9 July 2015. But as the clock on...

Corrie's Blog : November 2014

http://www.corriecorfield.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

8220;One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple” - Jack Kerouac. Friday, 28 November 2014. Past eight months a trip to the kitchen for a cup of tea in the middle of the night has been a hazardous affair. The creaking, bouncing, boinging floorboards. Alerted most of the neighbourhood to any nocturnal ramblings let alone anyone else in the house itself and then once downstairs the. It felt, at times, that it. Would be like this forever. Patient and one day I'd realise why. And he was ...

8220;One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple” - Jack Kerouac. Sunday, 22 February 2015. A Daub For February. The contestants painted (on canvas) the inside and out of Alnwick Castle and some delphiniums. So I joined them. Not with the bricks and mortar but with the flowers. It's been ages since I did anything on the iPad, not since they upgraded the Brushes App to be honest and I couldn't work out the new symbols, but I fired it up, took a deep breath and dived in. Anyway, over the c...

Corrie's Blog : Thrushless In Tooting

http://www.corriecorfield.blogspot.com/2015/06/thrushless-in-tooting.html

8220;One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple” - Jack Kerouac. Thursday, 11 June 2015. The ducks were nearer the footbridge. There was an awful lot of splashing, quacking and following very close in the water going on. Love, well lust really, was definitely in the air. Although one lone Drake looked exhausted. Back in the Shottery garden the wallflowers were proving popular with bees and butterflies. The former fat and fit, the latter looking a tad tatty. Posted by Corrie Corfield.

8220;One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple” - Jack Kerouac. Saturday, 6 September 2014. On Monday I shall do something I haven’t done for over a year. It will involve removing my clothes, sucking in my tummy and taking a deep breath. There will probably be much squealing to begin with but then hopefully a very long sigh of contentment. So roll on Monday. I am more than ready to make a big. Posted by Corrie Corfield. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

8220;One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple” - Jack Kerouac. Wednesday, 27 May 2015. How Does Your Garden Grow. The beginnings of the far border. The far border in May 2015. Mr C by the left hand wall. That's also much better! Four tiny and lonely looking newly planted lavenders. Bigger. Much bigger. And they've been cut back a lot! Posted by Corrie Corfield. Meanderings: 19000 steps

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/19000-steps.html

Friday, July 10, 2015. Yesterday we mostly went walking. In the morning we walked around the loch out the front of Paul and Carol's place. We were accompanied for part of the way by one of the local border collies who came to say hello and then came along just for fun. In the afternoon we went to a headland and walked through wildflower meadows and then back along the cliff tops. All in all yesterday my pedometer counted 19000 steps. It's just as well we don't have walking plans for today!

Meanderings: February 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. A long weekend, just for me. It was quite a sunny weekend, and we had hoped to make further progress, but the wind was cold so we didn't spend too much time outside! This is how the dining room looks now:. Starting by taking down the rails and the frieze by the window:. The cat was deeply suspicious when we started shifting the furniture out the way! Potato and cheese cake with celeriac and polenta chips. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. They have ping pong tabl...

Meanderings: August 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Visiting Aussies (Part the Second). I was stood in the kitchen on Saturday evening watching a snow-capped mountain slowly make its way from the North towards our house, gradually obscuring the blue sky and sunshine. But we definitely got thunder and lightning and torrential rain and hailstones and a road that believed it was a wild river - and a wet and soggy cat who came in from somewhere at one of the moments when the storm had abated a bit. And we had a lovely time. The s...

Meanderings: Eating from the garden and allotment

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/08/eating-from-garden-and-allotment.html

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Eating from the garden and allotment. Someone asked me the other day if we were eating from our garden and allotment yet this year. I was about to say that it hadn't been a very good year for home grown vegetables (which it hasn't) but then I stopped to think about what we are eating from the garden and allotment. It is actually quite a good variety. We have been eating:. Potatoes and onions which the Under Gardener dug up a few weeks ago. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Meanderings: June 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. End of last week. From my perspective, the rest of the week proceeded in a calm and orderly manner. There were, from my point of view, no excitements or alarms. All was well - apart from the fact that I need a new favourite pub. Mostly, over the past few days, the sun has shone and the weather has been balmy. Apart from Sunday when it poured more or less all day, until about 4 pm when it was much too late to do anything useful with the glorious sunshine! Links to this post. No tha...

Meanderings: Tupton Parade and Carnival

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/tupton-parade-and-carnival.html

Monday, July 20, 2015. Tupton Parade and Carnival. It was the Tupton Parade and Carnival on Saturday. Tabitha, Gareth and Cally came over to watch the parade and visit the carnival. The Parade comes along Ankerbold Road and turns left onto Queen Victoria Road. You can see it from our drive, but you get a slightly better view if you go out and walk up a couple of metres. I think Cally was a bit startled by the loudness of the marching bands, but otherwise we enjoyed it a lot. It was the Chesterfield Carni...

Meanderings: Christmas in July

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/christmas-in-july.html

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I haven't hosted a Christmas in July party since 2005 or so. I moved to summer afternoon tea parties in August instead (although I don't seem to have organised one for this year). I did notice that one of the Tupton pubs was having a Christmas in July party last Saturday but we had other plans so didn't investigate further. Thank you to Aidan, Simon and Freyja for a lovely evening. And we hope you will all be very happy in your lovely home. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Meanderings: Tramlines and Trams

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/tramlines-and-trams.html

Monday, July 27, 2015. It was the annual Tramlines music festival in Sheffield this weekend just gone. The Builder and I did not go. Instead we followed our practice of recent years and had Cally with us while her father worked in the Green Room and Tabitha went out carousing. Anyway. Back to the weekend. On Saturday we dropped around to Freyja and Simon's new place and took them off to Costco for a little light (! We took her to the Tram Museum in Crich. We had ice cream, as promised. And on Sunday morn...

Meanderings: Saturday and Sunday, and a quick visit to Monday

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/saturday-and-sunday.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Saturday and Sunday, and a quick visit to Monday. Saturday is the day that most people who are on holiday in Harris leave or arrive. Most of the leavers go out on the early ferry. Many of the arrivers come on the later ferry. This leaves quite a bit of the day when there are few holidaying people on the island. This makes the roads (which are seldom really, really busy) very quiet. Then we went to the Art Cafe in Skoon. We saw lots of wildlife while we were in Scotland. Otters...

Corrie Cooks - Pressure Cooking With Corrie

Pressure Cooking with Corrie Duffy. I've been a huge fan of cooking for a very long time. I started out by helping my parents prepare food in the kitchen and then slowly started cooking all by myself. Naturally it was a lot of simple stuff but by the time I was a teenager I was doing a large portion of the family dinner prep all by myself. You can read my about page. I hope you'll take the time to read through my posts, connect with me on Facebook, and come back time and time again. On those two posts yo...
