Run, Run River. Carry me to my home in the ocean. Carry me away." - jon swift. When I last left off, Nate and I were in Prattville, Alabama with my parents for a couple of nights. We ate some good food, watched a lot of football and had a great time catching up with them! Thanks for coming to see us Mom and Dad! They dropped us off at Cooter's Pond Park and we had a windy 8 mile paddle to Gunter Hill Campground. The beavers kept slapping their tails at us like we needed to get out of their way! Because o...

My Birthday Party: Two Months Late. For my 25th birthday party celebration surprise weekend, my dear friends ( Mary and Dave. And husband treated me to a weekend away down on the ole Alabama coast. The Bon Secour River and the Gulf of Mexico proved to be just the right mix of fun and sun for this girl! On our way to South Alabama, we stopped at this peaches stand and talked to this sweet man about his sweet peaches! Those were some of the yummiest peaches I've ever had! Out to eat at The Tin Top. All Along the River. Nate and I are in Calera, Alabama spending the night with our friends, Clay and Leigh Ann Farrington. We have both had showers, we have washed our clothes, we have eaten several good meals (including a dessert of apple pie with vanilla ice cream), we have washed out our boats with bleach water, we've aired out our gear, we've had a relaxing afternoon. A huge. Thanks to all of our wonderful trail angels that make this trip that much better! Instagram photos are the best I can do here!

So Much Things to Say. Here's a list of things we've done since I last posted:. 1 After our buddy, Clay dropped us off, we put in at Kelly Creek beneath the dam and continued on down the river. It was such a beautiful place and we definitely want to revisit this creek to fish and float for a few days! 2 We arrived at this wonderful campsite where the mosquitoes were out of control, so we ate a granola bar and went straight to bed! 3 We did our first 22 mile day and made it to a place called Paradise Point.
