Minnsconsin Fly Fishing: August 2007
http://minnsconsinflyfishing.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Fly Fishing The Mostly Forgotten Rivers of Minnesota and Wisconsin. And, a little of the beer and music enjoyed along the way. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Another Day, Another Big Fish. Then I caught that damn walleye. It's our state fish. It's the state fish because we like to eat it, fried- which is why Minnesotans are a bit broad in the beam. I love the big, fly-caught smallmouth. Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Yet, Another Hog Smallmouth. Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Friday, August 10, 2007. One day a pair o...

Critter's Corner: Steelhead mojo
http://critter-critterscorner.blogspot.com/2014/01/steelhead-mojo.html
Wednesday, January 15, 2014. So there are a couple of traditions that the Jenn-o-rator and I have when it comes to steelhead. The first is that the morning is best started with a snickers and some caffeinated beverage for me. The Jen likes a mounds or Almond Joy for the drive to the first parking spot. Critter's Corner: August 2013 Recap
http://critter-critterscorner.blogspot.com/2013/12/august-2013-recap.html
Saturday, December 28, 2013. I know I have been a horrible blogger this year, but my lame excuse is that I really have been a little more busy than normal since going back to school for an MBA. With that, I plan to do a couple of posts to highlight a couple of fishing outings taken in 2013. This spring I managed to get out and fish the Rush River a couple of times. Nothing epic, but it was all I could squeeze in before my August vacation. Roughing it in Montana. Do you see the black bear? We fished a cou...

Minnsconsin Fly Fishing: July 2011

Fly Fishing The Mostly Forgotten Rivers of Minnesota and Wisconsin. And, a little of the beer and music enjoyed along the way. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Old Fish (Part 3) The Legendary Rainbow. This took a little work to get right. A 25' rainbow from Trout Lake in Yellowstone National Park. I fished this lake for years and caught nothing but fat, 16-20' cutthroats- nothing wrong with that, but I had heard about these rainbows. These huge, fat, scud-slurping lake-bows. But, the rainbows? Old Fish (Part 3) T...

Minnsconsin Fly Fishing: June 2008
http://minnsconsinflyfishing.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Fly Fishing The Mostly Forgotten Rivers of Minnesota and Wisconsin. And, a little of the beer and music enjoyed along the way. Monday, June 16, 2008. I've been sitting in cafes and bars that dot the flat, sand country of central Wisconsin in the early evenings. I'm waiting, reading newspapers, getting online where there is WiFi. Yesterday, I had a mishap in the stream and strained an already tender muscle in my thigh. Today it is very stiff and painful. So it goes. Kicks The Shit Out Of Crazy Old Bastard!

Minnsconsin Fly Fishing: July 2009
http://minnsconsinflyfishing.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Fly Fishing The Mostly Forgotten Rivers of Minnesota and Wisconsin. And, a little of the beer and music enjoyed along the way. Saturday, July 11, 2009. More Brookies. Ill Stick To What Works. They were out thick tonight. The Winona Fly Factory. Combo of a orange stimulator/sparkle larvae (or a pink squirrel) with a little tungsten bead got em down to where they live. However, the largest fish- the eight to ten inch giants- came up for the stimulator. They were there in time for two-fer-ones. No bears....
