Kananaskis Country Golf Course Turf Care: What do you do in the Winter?
http://kcountryturfcare.blogspot.com/2013/02/what-do-you-do-in-winter.html
End of 2012 season. Wednesday, 27 February 2013. What do you do in the Winter? For the majority of my short illustrious turf career, I’ve worked as a seasonal employee. The first four years worked nicely because I was a student, finishing high school. Then completing post secondary. The next four were also great, as I collected earnings. From the great resource we all know as Employment Insurance. I quickly realized that as my expensive taste in life evolved, my actual income didn’t. I. Courses. From...

Kananaskis Country Golf Course Turf Care: Welcome to 2013!!
http://kcountryturfcare.blogspot.com/2013/01/welcome-to-2013.html
End of 2012 season. Friday, 18 January 2013. Welcome to the new year! A time when some of us turf managers anticipate great numbers, wonderful compliments and a perfect wintering of our golf courses? Okay, well at least that's something I always try and look forward to every new year. We hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season filled with great food, lots of drink and close company. That time for us has quickly passed and it was back to work as usual. You gotta use the force! Welcome to the Kana...
Kananaskis Country Golf Course Turf Care: Closure
http://kcountryturfcare.blogspot.com/2013/07/closure.html
End of 2012 season. Tuesday, 16 July 2013. This will likely be my last post on the KCountry turcare blog. Looking back to the date of the previous post, it’s clear that we weren't frequently up to date. The easy excuse is to say that we were very busy preparing and maintaining both golf courses to the high standards that many of our guests and our Kananaskis team have come to expect. This was actually the truth. What’s my plan? So I write this final post on the KCountry turfcare’s blog as my ...Welcome to...
Kananaskis Country Golf Course Turf Care: April 2013
http://kcountryturfcare.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
End of 2012 season. Sunday, 21 April 2013. Early last weekend we were welcomed with four days of fresh snow. Both properties were again completely covered in about 30cm. Most of the fresh didn't melt off until mid week and our crews were out again clearing greens so that we could peel back tarps. At times, weather can be frustrating, however it's a part of our seasons and our location. We continue to stay focused and motivated in our accomplishments. Let's have a great season. http://kcountryturfcare.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
End of 2012 season. Saturday, 17 September 2011. End of the Rainbow. Our team is down to a solid 23 team members down from 39 in mid season, but we still have the capabilities to get everything done we need to on a daily basis. I am happy to hear that everyone, including Shane has made it back to their respective colleges and universities; I was worried Shane would have gotten lost in a pub somewhere on his way back to Elmwood College in Scotland. Cottonwood G&CC Turf Maintenance
Cottonwood G&CC Turf Maintenance. Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Today (May 19th) is exactly two weeks since we core aerified our greens. We were able to accomplish our goals (on the 6th) having created vertical channels from the surface, through renovation layers, and into the original greens' rootzone. Without question, these types of procedures are an investment in future putting quality. An intentional growth surge to recover from aeration. A quick turn-around from aeration. Greens ...
