Cougar Trips: August 2011
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
August 31, 2011. Tales from the wild blue yonder. I’ll be honest, I love game day at LES and in the MC, but sometimes, I’m flat out jealous of the experiences and atmospheres that some of our competitors have to offer. How can getting on a plane and flying to a game be so adventurous you ask? I’ll tell you how: FLYING STANDBY! Anyone who’s ever flown on a buddy pass knows they can be awesome when everything goes as planned. But let’s be honest, when does that ever happen? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Cougar Trips: November 2012
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
November 1, 2012. GT Part 2: A Guest with KSL Radio Crew. Earlier this season I was in the audience at a weekly KSL Radio Coaches show. I told him I for sure was, and would be available for any road game that would work for him. He couldn’t commit to the plan quite yet, but said he liked the idea and would possibly have an extra credential available for the GT game…we’d be in touch. The KSL Booth Setup. 8221; The rest of us obviously had no clue what he was talking about, but he enlightened us with the s...

Cougar Trips: Georgia Tech: The PregameTourist (Part 1 of 2)
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2012/10/georgia-tech-pregametourist-part-1-of-2.html
October 31, 2012. Georgia Tech: The PregameTourist (Part 1 of 2). Getting to Atlanta was fairly smooth but far from flawless. I took the risk of attempting to get on the Thursday night red eye that actually departs at 12:55 am Friday morning. As my luck would have it, I was the 1. Usually I’m one to complain all day about humidity, but on this trip it was a welcomed change from the early season snow in SLC. Turner Field: Home of the Braves. HR landed has a memorial still standing. Just a few miles away f...

Cougar Trips: January 2012
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
January 24, 2012. Pepperdine: A Campus Unlike Any Other (Malibu, CA). It’s only taken me a couple trips inside the WCC to realize that as much as I miss some of the great and heated rivalries of the MWC, I don’t miss the cities at all! Our old friends in the Mountain West have had fun jabbing the WCC for small venues and attendance, but let’s be honest, did we ever see more than 2,000 in Laramie? I rest my case. BRAND NEW rental car! It’s funny how as students, many of us complained about the risin...

Cougar Trips: November 2011

November 8, 2011. The Good…The Bad…and The Punt Team. Who doesn’t love movie theater prices for hospital quality grub? Anyways, back to the subject at hand. The Good: Cowboy’s Stadium Goldie Locks’ High Five. The Bad: 90% of the game. Sometimes looking ahead is justified; TCU has now proven this four times. Maybe going forward BYU will realize that some teams deserve more prep time than others. The Ugly: 3 punts – 6 plays – 3 Horny Toad TD’s. Dallas to My House in SIX Stops. November 3, 2011. My Final TC...

Cougar Trips: September 2012
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
September 23, 2012. The Road to Boise: My 40-Hour Marathon Adventure. Thanks to some eager BYU fans on I-84, we made great time getting to Boise. Since I’m sure my mother and grandparents will read this, I won’t divulge exactly what that time was. I’ll just say I never was pulled over, so technically everything was legal. I was quite surprised just how good the game day experience at BSU is. The pregame tailgate crowd was huge! As for the key plays, many true bloggers andreporters have hashed out and deb...

Cougar Trips: February 2012
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
February 27, 2012. Spokane: Falling Short of WCC Travel Standards. Thursday night, I couldn’t sleep at all. Damn Bulldogs. 8221; and “Never bring a cat into a dogfight”. However, aside from the students, the crowd wasn’t near as exciting as I remembered it being years back. The Kennel didn’t hold a candle to a sold-out Marriott Center. I’d also rank it behind Viejas, T&M and The Pit. Each of those arenas were much louder than The Kennel was. In the first 13 minutes of the 2. Coulda-woulda-shoulda all nig...

Cougar Trips: September 2011
http://cougartrips.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
September 12, 2011. Don't Mess With Texas. Middle aged women do you know who can work a full day in St. George, leave town just after 4:00, drive 260 miles to Provo just to attend a basketball game at the MC that tips between 7-9, then turn around and drive home at midnight so she can be to work by 7:00 the next morning? You got anything better to do? I left the stadium and headed for the hotel about 3 miles south of town. I was about a block away when this conversation breaks out:. Me: Uh, the hotel?
