Thursday, March 21, 2013. In Portland there is a well known hospital called Oregon Health Sciences University, commonly referred to as OHSU. These pictures were taken in the ladies room on the Cardiology floor. See the little sign on the wall above the silver plated sensor? You won't believe what it says.. So the minorities must already know better. :). Well, I'm so glad they cleared that up for me! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Canning apple pie filling. First try at rolls.

Monday, September 16, 2013. Tim found these growing. In the midst of the chaos. Of our newly logged field. The birds planted them. . . And God watered them. September 16, 2013 at 8:58 PM. Can you use their seeds to plant more? I see a bonfire soon, maybe Halloween? Dont forget the smores. September 17, 2013 at 6:37 AM. That is a great idea! The Fire Marshall will let us burn it when the rainy season in is full swing - around the Holidays. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Homesteading Self Sufficient Living Living off the Land. What NOT to Feed Chickens: 7 Things to Avoid. I have to try really hard not to stutter and stare…. 8230;when I’m at someone’s house and I watch them throw celery tops, broccoli stems, or banana peels in the trash. That’s valuable stuff! Which is fabulous considering it cuts down on the chicken feed bill. I keep a bucket right on my kitchen counter and continually toss scraps in it while I’m cooking. But sometimes I get lazy…). I’ve found that.

Monday, April 21, 2014. Where On Earth Have I Been? All these long months I have been wanting to blog again, but where do you start when you've been gone for so long? Finally I decided to just start. So here I am! Our logging operation finished last summer, leaving us with a nice stack of firewood. (About 16 cords.). As Thanksgiving approached I realized that my black and white china would look ridiculous with the new dining room set. So I spent weeks combing Craig's List until I found the perfect re...

Saturday, May 25, 2013. My blog has been hijacked! Ok, not all of it but something weird has happened. Do any of you remember a blog written by Kris Watson called Simply Living? She also started a blog called Heritage Skills. Well, the Heritage blog has been taken over by something called "Special Offers" and it's a marketing thing, AND I CAN'T GET RID OF IT. I tried hiding the blog in my dashboard but I still get the feed right at the top of my list. Why don't I just ignore it? Thursday, May 23, 2013.

Thursday, August 29, 2013. Now that I have replaced my computer, I really need to start bringing this blog up to date. There are so many pictures (hundreds) of the logging operation that they all begin to blur together. So I have chosen a few to show you so perhaps you can get an idea of the scope. Below is a picture I took of Tim the day before the loggers came. Notice the wall of green behind Tim in this picture. Here is the same place, minus the wall of trees. This is just a random shot of the loader ...

The Compound: June 2015
http://theschultzcompound.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2015. I thought I'd add a quick report for my loyal followers;. I think I've sold my rabbits. The Holland Lop Ears are cute as a button, but at this point, I'd like to lighten the load. It's not that they take much time, or really cost that much money. I'd like to see someone else that really wants them raise and breed them. Weather is turning hot and HUMID, and we're starting to see the normal summer afternoon rain pattern go into full swing.
