I had originally hoped to walk from Land’s End to John-o-Groats but the three months it would require was just too much for me to justify and instead I walked from Land’s End to the Scottish border near Berwick-upon-Tweed. The road is still partially paved but the flagstones may not be Roman as the route will have been used throughout the period since (it’s an obvious crossing point) and Pennine packhorse routes were usually flagged as well.
