I have always escaped the stresses of the workplace by going for long walks in the countryside or watching wildlife ( or both together ). After a while it seemed logical to take a camera with me to capture special moments. As more time went on the photography started to be an escape in its own right. Thank you for visiting this site. The downlands of Wiltshire where I live are very gentle and I always enjoy the contrast of the wildness of moorland. Dartmoor and Exmoor are conveniently close, but I also try and get up to the North York Moors and Dales each year. Lone tree at Kildale. Tre’r Ceiri outer wall, Lleyn Peninsular. Yar Tor at dawn. If you like wide open spaces and a hint of wildness the west coast of Scotland and its islands are hard to beat ( out of the midge season). If you want serenity, Holy island off Northumberland is the place for you. Loch Gruinart, Islay and lone tree. Meall an Dubh, Colonsay with Jura beyond. Colonsay looking towards Oronsay. I travel a lot to watch wildlife, so here are a few other animals and birds that I have seen on my travels, some more exotic than others. Arctic Fox, Spitzbergen. Regal young lion, south Luanga. Hippos, Lunaga River. Impala, South Luanga. Ferral Goat, Lundy. Grizzly bear on the prowl. Grizzly in the rain. Arctic fox at rest. Red deer and midges.
