Now I'm In _________: July 2010
http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 6, 2010. I always get more followers whenever I post tourist-friendly or Japan-centric stuff like ANIME or AMEYOKO. That is fine. You know when I liked this blog, though, is when it was all about my big yellow sweater. And some music videos. And I can only just hope to subconsciously try to stay gold in this new life I lead. PEOPLE ARE S T R A N G E. When you're a STRANGER. WHEN YOU'RE UN WANT. STREEEETS ARE UNNNEVENNN WHEN YOU'RE DOWN. Faces come out of the rain. No one remembers your name.

Now I'm In _________: Reverse Culture Shock: When does it end?
http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2012/03/reverse-culture-shock-when-does-it-end.html
Friday, March 2, 2012. Reverse Culture Shock: When does it end? And you'd fuckin hope so, right? Good lord, my friends, it is March of 2012. It's almost the anniversary of the earthquake! I got on that plane nine. Months ago. Tokyo is long behind me. I have a new city and new friends and new jobs. I don't even look the same. I've moved on. So what's weird about it? But that sense of cosmic benevolence doesn't shine as bright when strangers shriek IDIOT. I mean, one night I sat in pee on the train. So her...

Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Sunday, November 21, 2010. It's winter. It's my last winter in Japan, actually. But I can see Mt. Fuji from my house. Thursday, November 4, 2010. Children's Toys for One Coin! If you know any children with birthdays coming up and you're on a budget you should definitely check out the one-coin shops where you can get awesome toys for like a buck fifty each! This was between little stuffed animals and generic Nerf guns. Your little girl can display it on her waist or bag!

Now I'm In _________: February 2012
http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. My Favorite Japan Blogs Part 1. My Google stats warm my heart. I'm glad people are still coming here. I don't live in Japan anymore but I'm still mad connected to Tokyo and the people I know there, and I'll still write here when the occasion calls for it. But if you dig this blog, let me suggest some current jams you'll probably like! Vivian at Lost In Translation. Let me add that if I'm perhaps a little prone to sulk in gutters or wake up drunk with a tobacco-soaked rat's nest...

http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2012/02/reverse-culture-shock-acute-symptoms.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. Reverse Culture Shock: Acute Symptoms. Hey, baby pies! Hey from New York! What have you been up to? How have I been? Oof Let's talk about reverse culture shock - short-term now, long-term next. I've made the trip between Japan and the U.S. six times, I think, so I know all about the acute signs of being stuck in Tokyo-mode. OMG everyone's so LOUD. I GOT - I GOT YOUR - WHAT? I GOT YOUR BAGS! I SAID I GOT YOUR BAGS! NO I GOT IT! Well this is a docile bunch, but. You'll be like, t...

http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Make it moist, damp. This hideous appliance is a PET bottle humidifier I bought very cheaply with very little faith. If you're prone to dry skin and you want to move to Japan, watch out! Winter in Tokyo is so, so, so, so dry. I don't know how it is for everyone, but around late November here my nails start breaking off, my hair is parched, and my skin, ugh! But it has changed my life! My skin feels amazing! Because Earth is an awesome planet. Try to remember that once a day.

Now I'm In _________: September 2011
http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. NOW I'M IN NEW YORK. I didn't know how to break it to you, but I did leave Japan. What is wrong with me? That's what I was thinking in those last few weeks. Why would I come to this place and work so hard to find these people I love so much and this life where I can do anything I want? Why would I do that and then force myself to leave it? Why am I hittin' myself? Why'm I hittin' myself? I don't know why! This is a weird post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). NOW IM IN NEW YORK.

Now I'm In _________: Rooftops, Patios
http://dontstoptiligetenough.blogspot.com/2011/05/rooftops-patios.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Most people might have figured this out sooner than I did, but the top floors and rooftops of department stores in Tokyo almost always feature an indoor/outdoor space to chill out up high, drink some coffee, read a book, smoke a cigarette, whatever. There are benches, plants, and usually a decent view. One floor up is a patio space. The top three floors are all restaurants and cafes so you can grab a coffee, although after nearly 3 years in Japan I still. Posts from Japan: 2008-2011.
