Clonakilty, as well as West Cork in general, is a wonderful place to go fishing with mackerel, cod, bass and pollock all swimming off our shores. The region’s many hidden beaches and coves provide ideal locations from which to cast out a line or two, while its sheltered harbours are home to sea fishing boats of various size and shape. Within 20 minutes of Clonakilty are the towns of Bandon, Rosscarbery, Courtmacsherry, Glandore and Union Hall, all of which have rich fishing heritages as well.
