W & J: Snow!
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013/12/snow.html
Wednesday, December 18. Ezra LOVED it right from the get-go. Theo took quite some time to warm up to it. Pretty much their personalities to a tee. V was there too, although she did all of her snow viewing from my back. Next year she can join the big boys and actually taste it while building a snowman.to then knock over. Yeesh, boys. ;). I think Theo's favorite part was the lunch and warm drinks post-snow. Great training with a fun adventure. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Party of Five.

W & J: November 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 20. I was going to start this by saying how crazy this week has been until I realized: I've been saying that for the last two months. Oy! But there's some really good and exciting stuff too. I launched an official fb page for J. Swenson Photography. Last weekend was surely my busiest yet. And meeting new families is always a treat. And I got one step closer to another bucket-list item over the weekend! We are ALL really looking forward to some good, quality family time next week!

W & J: September 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 30. Art With Lentil / Whittling. In the story, Old Sneep grumbles while whittling on a park bench because he's jealous of Colonel Carter and the town's celebration of his return. The boys were way too young to really have the fine-motor skills for this, but they thoroughly enjoyed it and W loved being able to instruct them. E somehow managed to shape his into a gun with random cuts. They sure loved this art project. Friday, September 27. Math With Lentil / Fractions. And on our world map.

W & J: FOUR.
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013/12/four.html
Tuesday, December 17. I know this may sound a bit strange but I feel like you've been four for the last six months or so, already. You already know how to bike without training wheels, you get yourself dressed, go to the potty without prompting {most days}, and help around the house with things that need to be done…you are quite the big boy already. It's certainly bittersweet, first born. We love that you still love to cuddle with us often and know the days are numbered where we can hold you or carry you...

W & J: March 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 28. That Third Time I Got Mastitis. It's my Achilles' heel in the childbearing process, apparently. I am so over this.". I leaned into friend support big time too since W was already back at work and my parents are in their most busiest time right now. Several friends made sure to let me know they were available to help which was so amazing! And there you have it. Mastitis {Spawn of Satan}. Party of F I V E. Thursday, March 14. So I survived my first day alone with three. Thankfully, toda...

W & J: August 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 30. They Humored, I Snapped. Friday afternoon I shuffled everyone into the van and headed out to a local spot. They were so generous. It was pretty hot. Vesper napped on my back and I snapped away while the boys played. Once everyone was too red in the face, we headed home where they dressed down to undies and returned to jumping on the sofa. Happy Three Day Weekend, Friends! Wednesday, August 28. Love my growing blondies. Tuesday, August 27. Getting Ready For Fall. I'm prayerfully conside...

W & J: Michelle + Scott
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013/07/michelle-scott.html
Monday, July 15. Over the weekend, we went to my cousin Michelle's wedding. My 4th "cousin's wedding" I've attended thus far, and the most marvelous to date. These two are just the kindness, most sweetest people. A great reminder that it's always worth holding out for the one who will put you first. Beautiful things will happen when you do. We first "heard" of Scott {who we somehow jokingly referred to as Steve} during our Milwaukee trip. And now here we are celebrating them! The wine I fell in love with...

W & J: May 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 30. This year, our birthdays fell on Wednesdays. For my big 3-0, we went downtown for a date night. We celebrated the night before with my parents during family dinner. The following week, the boys and I made W a birthday cake and dinner. We kept it simple. It was Theo's first time baking with us. He's a fan. This past family dinner was W's turn. He got to pick the menu. Wednesday, May 29. The Rest of Memorial Weekend. Since we were out all day Saturday, we never left the house the followin...

W & J: July 2013
http://theswensonfamily.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 31. Some friends invited us over to experience harvesting honey from their bees for their daughter's second birthday bash. It was a potluck BBQ, lots of dirt and chicken chasing in their homestead backyard, .and all the normal birthday cake, singing, and gifts. So here's the small bit I learned about beekeeping. along with these mesmorized kiddos. 1) You smoke them out before. 4) Once you picked one to harvest, you scrape all the bees off the honeycomb. And had way too much fun with in th...
