Life in the goldfish bowl. My blog reflects my thoughts and experiences as me, a wife, a mother, a vicar, and life with a disability - and how Jesus is in all of this. Monday, 29 December 2014. Vicars - well, ok, perhaps just this one - are caught up between the two ends of a tug-o-war rope. And at the other end of the rope? The quiet, but persistent question, "what's the Jesus-point of all this? And I have 2 problems. And whereas Jesus should be at the other end of the rope taking the strain and shoutin...

Life in the goldfish bowl. My blog reflects my thoughts and experiences as me, a wife, a mother, a vicar, and life with a disability - and how Jesus is in all of this. Friday, 17 October 2014. Not holding back from the pace you'd rather be walking at. Not walking ahead, then waiting for me to catch up, then walking ahead. Not in a gang ahead of me as though I don't count. Actually with me, shortening your pace to match mine, your speed to match mine,. Please, walk with me. Posted by The Vic.

Life in the goldfish bowl. My blog reflects my thoughts and experiences as me, a wife, a mother, a vicar, and life with a disability - and how Jesus is in all of this. Thursday, 14 January 2010. A Mini-Me is on the way! A baby - who will hopefully have my musicality and sense of humour, and it's dad's way with languages and words. (the horror would be my height and his nose! But I feel good with this. So now the wonderful world of preparing for Maternity Leave begins - work: how does the Church of Englan...

Chipping Away At Churchianity. Sinners, welcome.Pharisees, get lost! The ramblings of a female curate. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. I'm not sure that the above cartoon is really the way forward for our churches. However, I really love this passage from 1 Peter as a description of how church should be. If it was always like this, then it really would be brilliant! I am just glad that I get glimpses of this on occasion, through the actions of some very special people. 8206;1 Peter: 4: 7b-11. 930am - CW Com...

Friday, 15 May 2009. WOZA - women of Zimbabwe Arise. I am continually amazed by the women and men of Zimbabwe, their tenacity in daring to stand up for their dignity as human beings. So I'm reposting here something just recieved from WOZA. Women of Zimbabwe Arise and from Kubatana. They are not church NGOs just people risking their lives for the good of their country. Chipping Away At Churchianity. Sinners, welcome.Pharisees, get lost! The ramblings of a female curate. Friday, November 05, 2010. Apologies for my silence. This has been caused by the sheer busyness of life as a curate in a three parish benefice and not through lack of interest. It is sufficient to say that I am loving my curacy and can't quite believe that I get to do this job every day. The work is varied and exciting, the people lovely and supportive and the surrounding are beautiful. Awesome Inc....
