Dana McCauley’s Food Blog. This blog has moved. Cool Yule, volume 2. Topline Trends Tuesday: Is less more? Friday party trick: Pasta in a bag. September 18, 2009, 10:37 pm. Lately, I’ve fallen in love with a relatively new group called Lady Antebellum. Beautifully tight harmonies make each of their songs unique and give a sense of depth, richness, and unadulterated musicality that is hard to find in a lot of music genres, not just country. But down the road the sun is shining. But one day you will. The f...

Dana McCauley’s Food Blog. This blog has moved. Cool Yule, volume 2. Topline Trends Tuesday: Is less more? Friday party trick: Pasta in a bag. December 11, 2009, 5:17 pm. The Literacy of Recipes. This literacy is not strictly ink and paper, nor is it always tangible but it is profound and powerful in a way that goes beyond the physical components of a dish. One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? May 29, 2013. May 29, 2013. Favorite Things. Issue #11:. For the last two years, Lance and I have trekked up Flag Pole Hill (out by White Rock Lake) to listen to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra play as fire works explode above the hill in celebration of Memorial Day. We lay out a quilt, bring a toy for Molly and this year we brought my old classic picnic basket, stocked with red wine, a variety of cheeses and meats and fruit. One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? June 18, 2014. June 18, 2014. I feel like the only things redeeming about this experience are the friends I’m making who share in my exhaustion, pain and frustration and the delicious food at Rice. Almost everyone has a different version of the same drama today. I’m keeping my head up for the end goal – improving the lives of kids. Sweet dreams. Wish me restful slumber…. June 17, 2014. I’m sooooo tired it hurts. Enough updates. I’m going to sleep. June 16, 2014.

One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? June 19, 2014. June 19, 2014. The kids started testing me today with behavior. I had to give the teacher stare a few times and redirect students to get back on task, but overall they were alright – better than the horror stories about behavior I am hearing from friends. My kids are just taking longer to back down. I know they are testing my limits. I’m getting good reviews so far though, so I am excited. I better go to bed so that I don’t have a Tuesday repeat. My fi...

One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? May 15, 2015. The other students saw this interaction. J, another of my students and a friend of M’s, then said something to me that pulled me ashore from the sea. 8220;Mrs. Myers, I feel like you should work at a rich school where everyone cares about their work and respects you. These kids are so disrespectful to you. You’re a really good teacher; you deserve better.”. OK – first of all – OMG did that just happen? Can I really make a difference? 8220;Mrs. Myers...

One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? June 28, 2013. June 28, 2013. 8220;She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.”. For the last two weeks or so, I have noticed the same woman beside the road on my way to and from work. Her hair is a frazzled mess standing in all directions from her scalp; her clothes are dirty and slipping about. She sits in front of some rather nice town homes, on a park bench at the bus stop; she never gets on the bus. 8220;Are you sure? I totally botched...

One Day at a Time. Why Load Up Molly? Off The Grid…Where I’ve Been. September 22, 2014. September 22, 2014. Here is what I have learned:. My faith gets me through each hour. My husband is a saint and my best friend. Next to the Lord, he is my rock and my safe place. My family and friends are a blessing. I am so thankful. I did not understand my privilege until I saw how much other’s lacked it. I still do not understand its unfair advantage and affect. Do not assume anything. Lots of slang…. You are comme...
