End-of-the-year happenings | Poco a Poco

8230;little by little…. Is 2013 almost over already? It’s been quite a year of adaption and change for us as we have been adjusting to being new parents as we continue to serve at AFE in the trash dump community. Most recently, we have had the privilege of witnessing yet another year of graduations at AFE. Douglas and Maoly, two of AFE’s favorite students, celebrated the end of their high school journey. Next stop: college! It’s moments like these that we are reminded why we are here in Honduras. AFER...

Clinic Opening | Poco a Poco
https://adamhollie.wordpress.com/2013/09/02/clinic-opening
8230;little by little…. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love O LORD, endures forever. Do not abandon the works of your hands. When Adam and I first visited AFE in Honduras in 2008, I immediately saw the immense need for quality healthcare within the trash dump community. Soon after, I felt the Lord calmly directing me toward facilitating the opening of a local clinic to meet the healthcare needs of this specific population. Then we moved to Honduras. Simply put: to trust. The journey start...

Remembering where you come from… | Poco a Poco

8230;little by little…. Remembering where you come from…. Courtesy of Elizabeth Miller. Our past plays an important role in shaping who we become. This past week at AFE, we have reflected and remembered how the project began over 10 years ago. It is so incredible to see how far AFE has come since those first classes given in the trash dump! Summer is here! | Poco a Poco
https://adamhollie.wordpress.com/2013/05/26/summer-is-here
8230;little by little…. After living in Honduras for over two years, we are (more than ever) acutely aware of the “little” things that we miss from the U.S.: Chic-fil-A, air conditioning, smooth roads. Nonetheless, I have moments in which I realize that there are so many things that I would miss from Honduras:. Honduran ketchup, beautiful mountain views. Thank you for all your prayers! Please continue to pray for us as we begin this busy summer while balance being parents and pray for the completion of t...

ABOUT US | Poco a Poco
https://adamhollie.wordpress.com/about
8230;little by little…. After spending three months in Guatemala and Honduras for language school, we moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras [Central America] in November 2010 to serve the community of trash dump workers. We teach in a school specifically for child workers and our plans are to begin a clinic to meet the healthcare needs of the community. Check out www.afehonduras.org. I fix my eyes on the Author of my life. May I realize your glory far outweighs this simple life. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ).

It’s a work in progress, but here are some initial photos taken (and some reminiscing)…. First boxes of supplies for the clinic from 2010! New clinic: waiting area. New clinic: exam area. New clinic: procedure room. New clinic: connecting hallway with storage. Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 1 ). September 11th, 2013.

Clinic Update | Poco a Poco
https://adamhollie.wordpress.com/2013/07/20/clinic-update
8230;little by little…. Hallway connecting pharmacy and exam rooms. Clinic construction has resumed once again due to a generous donor who covered the last expenses for the completion of the building. Please be in prayer for the work to be completed SOON so that we can make the big move. The walls are almost completely up, and everything should be done within the next couple of weeks; more updates to come. What fantastic news! Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ). 8230;little by little…. It’s hard to believe that Preston celebrated her three-month birthday yesterday! The time has really just flown as we have been adapting to life as a new family. For her birthday, she decided to give us a fantastic present instead of the other way around: the gift of sleep. She has recently been sleeping about 10 hours through the night without waking up, so we could not be happier! Our lives feel like they are taking on some sense of normalcy once again. Unfortunately, Dr. Ca...
