A snippet of our life. Now we are in 7th grade. Which alien ate my daughter? On the day before the day before the first day of 7th grade, she slept 'till 10, couldn't decide on breakfast - and then chose pancakes, as she had for most every day of the past 7 years. She took forever to get dressed for the day. On the night before the first day of seventh grade, we picked out her clothes for the next morning, and talked about the wake-up schedule and routine. A snippet of our life. PS Let it snow. There was enough snow that we did get out the snowmobiles today, and took a blizzardy trip into the backcountry. I have the honor of already being the first person stuck in the snow. Looks like the snow gods are conspiring with the marketing gods to push the winter season up a few weeks! A snippet of our life. Although the forecast was for rain, I was hopeful that I would see the last and only full lunar eclipse. Of 2010, especially when the rising moon was visible. Sara and I stayed up late in the hope that the sky would be clear-ish and we were rewarded! We watched the very hazy moon disappear, both in the shadow of the earth and behind clouds. Events like this (and the two sunny top-down-car kind of days) make these loooong nights tolerable! We decorated house and tree.

A snippet of our life. Little cabin in the woods. We are at the cabin for the long weekend. You know it's really cold When an indoor temperature of 47 degrees feels balmy! We ran into our friends in the parking lot. Sara went with them, and they all came down for dinner. Looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner. A snippet of our life. One of the season's special treats was cookies from Auntie Tracy, who slipped them into her handbag after a cocktail party at the White House. Sara shared the cookies with her friend Anna. We decided to break with the tradition of going to the corner Christmas tree seller for our overpriced and dying tree.
