Wednesday, April 7, 2010. On Making and Re-Making. A week ago, Carrie and I were shopping through fabric for the Chief Muncie puppet and we decided on a mottled brown felt for the skin. The look of it was nice and leathery and I could imagine it on the puppet having an “old man” sort of quality. Later that week, Carrie began to cover the puppet with the felt, which is an involved process of cutting the fabric to just the right shapes, planning the seams, pinning the fabric to the puppet and hand-sewing.
