craftastica: June 2008

http://craftastica.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 15, 2008. In honor of father's day, here are photos of the rocking chairs my dad made for my daughter. (she received the larger chair for her first birthday, and upon realizing it was a bit too big, he promptly started making the smaller one for christmas! Thus, two chairs.) now that he has two new granddaughters as of this year, he's got more woodworking ahead of him, it seems. Saw, but who's ever heard of a table saw puzzle? Happy father's day, dad. :). Links to this post. More of my photos.

Friday, April 10, 2009. Kid craft: egg cartons into eggs. Recently, our city switched over to a single stream recycling system with lovely rolling blue bins. it's great, you can recycle. well, pretty much everything. paperboard. (ooh! Every number of plastic. (ahh! Combine that with our backyard composter (which is where our flushable diapers. The exception to this is egg cartons (the cardboardy kind). i find them consternating - can't recycle them (hmm, or can i? Last year, i made fabric eggs. If you fi...

craftastica: fabric eggs

http://craftastica.blogspot.com/2008/03/fabric-eggs.html

Friday, March 21, 2008. Originally uploaded by kelanew. Inspired by sew mama sew's secret pocket eggs. I decided i'd whip up a dozen for the easter egg hunt we had today with friends at the park. i didn't have anything on hand to put into the pockets, so these eggs have to be treat enough on their own, i guess. eva had fun helping me choose fabrics and stuff them, and i enjoyed being able to use up those tiny, tiny scraps i knew i was saving for some. Rose over the downtown skyline. The eggs are awesome!

craftastica: cinnamon ornaments

http://craftastica.blogspot.com/2009/02/cinnamon-ornaments.html

Sunday, February 15, 2009. Sometimes people ask me how i come up with ideas. i suppose sometimes clever little thoughts just pop into my head out of nowhere, but generally it works more like this:. And i made valentine ornaments for her friends out of cinnamon dough. why? Because i finally got around to cleaning out my spice cabinet last week, and came across three old containers of cinnamon (that doesn't count the three different kinds of good penzey's. Which means i bought it in college. and i've.

Tangerine & Turquoise: Food Gifts, Part 2

http://tangerineturquoise.blogspot.com/2009/12/food-gifts-part-2.html

Looking for my favorite colors everywhere. Sunday, December 13, 2009. Food Gifts, Part 2. So what happens when someone or a family has a nut allergy and I can't make my famous spiced nuts. I make my second favorite food gift, maple popcorn. The recipe is vegan and nut free, so it is great for people with allergies or with specific food restrictions. Though if you desire, you can always add nuts to it ( my friend Paige. Who is the source of this recipe - likes to add buttered almonds). 1-2 Tbsp of water.

Little Boxes on the Hillside: When it Rains it Pours

http://madefromtickytacky.blogspot.com/2009/01/when-it-rains-it-pours.html

Wednesday, January 14, 2009. When it Rains it Pours. Crazy times around here, as usual. In the last 4 or 5 days the following has happened:. I tore a ligament in my shoulder. Rodney's dad went into the hospital. Rodney's dad had surgery on his heart. Rodney nearly broke his toe. Oh And I switched classrooms with another teacher and had to completely move and redo everything. The medication they gave me for my shoulder knocks me completely out too. I can really only take it when Rodney is home. Fun-ish is...

Little Boxes on the Hillside: Charming

http://madefromtickytacky.blogspot.com/2009/01/charming.html

Monday, January 5, 2009. 2008 flew by me. I mean, seriously. I think 2008 is the year that I will never remember because it went by so quickly. Some good stuff happened in 2008, some bad stuff too but all in all, I'm glad that it's 2009. I seem to do better in odd years. Some notable moments for me in 2008:. Annual snowboarding trip in January. Making over 100 cakes! Figuring out that some people in my life, will always be in my life (Jess xoxo). Giving my first cake decorating series out of my house.

Sunday, October 26, 2008. Mr and Mrs. Kennedy. Captured in black and white. Saturday, October 18, 2008. As much as I hate to admit it, I really love the newly acquired apple product here at the DeMeglio household. I was skeptical. Do we really need. We already have so many little gadgets around here, was this one really necessary? We both have laptops, iPhones, we have a desktop computer in the office, several iPods, playstation this and nintendo that's.why on earth did we need this? I kind-of love it.
