Saturday, August 28, 2010. The Sarasota Beer Festival. Firkin Around. Sarasota, Florida. He first (hopefully annual) Sarasota Beer Festival was held on Saturday, August 28th. I can't remember a beer festival of this size ever, previously being hosted in Sarasota. Of course, I don't get out much! Robarts Arena was the venue, on Ringling Blvd., just off Fruitville Road. Florida Beer Festivals. Beer, beer and more beer. Well there was enough to satisfy an Englishman. Want an exotic or alternative brew?

While they do not brew any of their own beer, they do have almost 30 taps with lots of local beers and the entire line-up is very Cali-centric. As for the beers, I enjoyed the following:. Russian River Blind Pig IPA. Crisp hops layered above a citrusy ale. A light IPA bordering on a hoppy blonde. Very crisp....
