Saturday, May 21, 2011. Blast Off Into Summer Blog Hop. 3 - 2 - 1 - BLAST OFF! WELCOME all and thanks for stopping by and a big THANK YOU to Lynda and Wendy for hosting this hop. My project is simple and very easy and when making things in multiples, easy-peasy is the way to go. I bought acrylic frames at the dollar store - you know the kind with the magnetic strip on the back. I printed out my favorite teacher quote then punched it out with a tag punch. Inked the edges and added a little ribbon. Wendy- ...

Our Crafty Girls: March 2013
http://ourcraftygirls.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 21, 2013. I find it somewhat amusing that my first post to "Our Crafty Girls" is with my son.but hey.he wanted to craft too! I have a Toy Story cartridge for my cricut that has some pretty cool glasses on it and my son has been dying to make a pair. (He is also fairly jealous of his sister having her own cricut now, so I agreed to let him do all the work for these himself). Of course, he's only 5 and I'm a control freak so I had to step in a few times :). Getting the cricut ready. This ye...

Rockwell Studios: July 2011

Wednesday, July 27, 2011. It's my friend's Birthday so I made her this little card. Simple enough for a beginner to tackle. This 2 sided paper is from Gartner Studios, Bon Voyage - World Map. This paper flower is made with stacked scallop circles all 1.5 inches, sprayed wet and scrunched, un-scrunched and then attached together by a center brad. Once you have the brad in, you can fluff it up as you like and let it dry completely before adding to your layout or card. Another cake is out of the oven! This ...

Rockwell Studios: Sushi Fondant Cake
http://cropacabana.blogspot.com/2012/02/sushi-fondant-cake.html
Friday, February 17, 2012. This was fun to do, but made me hungry. I had a friend call and ask me to make a Sushi fondant cake. It sounded like a great challenge and I couldn't resist giving it a try. I started by making the soy sauce dish, which is fondant with a bit of added gum paste to make it harden. I cut out a circle and laid it over an overturned dish. It was left to dry for 3 days. You can even eat the dishes. The shrimp, wasabi and ginger are all fondant. February 21, 2012 at 12:21 PM.

Rockwell Studios: February 2011
http://cropacabana.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 24, 2011. I give my apologies in advance. I seriously need a new camera. Mine has died a slow and pathetic death, tattered images marred with eerie bars of light where none exist in the real world. I swear my last video had The Milky Way running through it, complete with stars. I'm really not sure what, specifically, caused it to stop working but I'll assume it was "delicate". Yes, I've tossed it into bags while vacationing, dropped it and dragged it around the beach all summer. Thursd...

So, After finding out my friend died in a horrible hicking accident, I was going through his Facbook page and realized he had so many things posted that we could remember him by. photos, videos, clips of his singing, short films, etc. He was only 20 and seemed to have lived every day to the fullest. I plan to spend much more time in the art room. I hope you can too! Linking this project on. Clean and Scentsible: The Creative Spark. Lil' Luna Link party.

Rockwell Studios: April 2011
http://cropacabana.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. I had to wrap a Boxed CD set for my Husband's Birthday last year and wouldn't you know I'm unable to just do it like a normal person. Instead I altered a cigar box to do the job. Click on images to see larger sizes. The pole is a twig and I added a real fishing fly to the string (with the hook cut off). but I see it's missing. On the inside there is more of the same idea. I also added a little. It made a nice cushioning for the CDs. Here is the card. simple but effective....So, n...

Sunday, March 27, 2011. So I had to make a cake. Not just any cake, but a dirt bike cake. I have only been making fondant cakes for about 4 months now and learned all I know through trial, error and the Internet. Big Red Pig) what he calls his bike. I accidentally. Added an apostrophe, but didn't have another sign made up and dried to correct it. Oh well. they were very happy and "Paul" loved it so much he didn't cut the cake at the party. He saved it till the next day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Learning and Lattes: September 2012
http://learningandlattes.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Oops a couple heads are falling ;). The photographs didn't do the cuteness of this justice. I. Borrowed this idea from one of my kid's teachers. I love going to their school and taking ideas for my own classroom ;). My students were so cute. They thought if they hid in another room their parents would actually think that it was them in their seats. I didn't have the heart to tell them that there parents would know better! They LOVED this project and it was so easy! We have a ...
