Crafting My Mama Leave: May 2011

http://www.craftingmymamaleave.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Crafting My Mama Leave. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Judy blogged about rhubarb and strawberry compote the other day, over at Foodie Loves Baking. And it was all I could think about for days. Jude is a professional baker and a keen gardener and she is always sharing delicious sounding, healthy looking recipes. I'm no chef, but I can wing strawberry and rhubarb compote. 2 quarts of sliced strawberries and a bunch of Ontario rhubarb all cup up and ready to go. Saturday, May 28, 2011. I've been reading Rude Cactus.

Crafting My Mama Leave: Swaps, Quilt-a-Longs and Bees

http://www.craftingmymamaleave.blogspot.com/2011/12/swaps-quilt-longs-and-bees.html

Crafting My Mama Leave. Sunday, December 25, 2011. Swaps, Quilt-a-Longs and Bees. First up, the Sew. Happy. Quilt. QAL. That Jenna is running over on Sew Happy Geek. This QAL began December 21 and runs until March 18. Fabric requirements are 11 to 12 fat quarters for the blocks and about 2 yards for the sashing and border. I'm going to use the Riley Blake Designs Solids FQ bundle below for this QAL. I'll use the reds, oranges, pinks and greens for the blocks, plus white. What do you think? Hayley of Mrs&...

Crafting My Mama Leave: July 2011

http://www.craftingmymamaleave.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Crafting My Mama Leave. Saturday, July 30, 2011. I used this tutorial. From Sew Craftilicious. My hand sewing is pretty terrible and also much too visible. I could have taken more care, but chose not too for the sake of time (it's after midnight and I should be sleeping). Thursday, July 21, 2011. And uncle #2 had hair to his shoulders and a big ole 'stache. Ah, those were the days. Last week I ordered two copies of this album, one for me and one for my sister. They arrived today and holy nostalgia! My se...

Modern Balabusta: Stella's Baby Quilt

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/2015/04/stella-baby-quilt.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. I purchased four metres of two different American Jane prints a couple years ago at an estate sale and knew they were destined for baby quilts. Our friends had a baby girl a few weeks ago and I decided that a simple quilt was in order. I free motion quilted vertical lines with unevenly spaced loops. Very fast and very sweet. I wanted the quilt to be drapey and soft so the quilting is minimal. April 21, 2015 at 9:18 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Modern Balabusta: November 2014

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. Sunday, November 30, 2014. I made one for my colleague (actually my boss but she hates being called that) and several others have requested one of their own. These sleeves are so much fun to make and use up the tiny scraps you can't bear to part with. Here are today's creations! Sunday, November 9, 2014. Introducing the Epic Quilt. You guys, I did it! I created my very first paper-piecing template ( see how I did it here. I sewed equilateral triangles for the first time. Curiou...

Modern Balabusta: January 2015

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. Saturday, January 17, 2015. Liberty Cowl for Me! I bought a fabulous hat and scarf at the One of a Kind Show last winter. The hat is loop back jersey, as is the scarf, which is actually more like a cowl. The only thing I don't love about them is that they are black, and my winter coat is navy. When I saw the gorgeous Liberty jersey that came in at The Workroom this week, I knew my problem was solved. Finding a jersey hat pattern. Does anyone know of one? No 88, Star of Hope&#46...

Modern Balabusta: Liberty Cowl Revisited

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/2015/02/liberty-cowl-revisited.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. Sunday, February 8, 2015. I made another cowl, this time for my lovely boss. She asked for one as soon as I finished mine but it's taken me some time to get around to making it. I think I love it even more than my own! I also made a mini fleece scarf for Lila. Levi is modelling it because Lila is napping. I made a large button hole using a long and narrow zigzag stitch. My kids love tucking the scarf end through the hole! February 8, 2015 at 9:06 PM. Modern Balabusta: December 2014

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014 was a really productive year. Unfortunately, I did a terrible job of blogging about them. My goal for 2015 is to write a blog post for every finish, even if the post is nothing more than a photo and title. Based on the contents of my Instagram and iPhone photo albums, it looks like I made:. 3 dresses (all Monetas! 6 blouses (Wiksten tank, Tova tank, 2 Sailor tops and 2 Scout tees). 10 Modern Instabee blocks. Numerous mug rugs and coffee cozies.

Modern Balabusta: BalaWHAT?

http://modernbalabusta.blogspot.com/p/balawhat.html

Mitten and Pacifier Clips. The free encyclopedia: Balabusta. Is a Yiddish expression describing the good homemaker among Ashkenazi Jews. I met my husband at thirty and we quickly set up house. I found myself actually caring about the state of our home. I wanted. Shabbat dinner to be special. I discovered that not only can I cook, but I don't hate doing it and. I'm quite good at it. I excel at chores like maintaining a budget and the family calendar. Who would have guessed? PS I still don't clean. Hi, I'm...

Crafting My Happy Life

Crafting My Happy Life. Friday, May 8, 2015. Last weekend I celebrated my 35th birthday. Every year, I get excited for my birthday. I am not too concerned (yet) about my age so I look forward to my birthday. It's nice to be spoiled and wished 'Happy Birthday' by everyone. It's also a great excuse for me to bake myself some cupcakes. Each year I choose exactly the kind. Want I don't worry if John or the kids don't like the flavor. They're. Crafting My Soul

A place to share my creativity with friends and family. Wednesday, December 16, 2015. First post in 6 years! Amazing. I have not updated this blog in over 6 years. The biggest change is my new baby, SKYE. She is a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd (and I suspect a touch of Greyhound based on her speed! I love this girl so much! I am her 3rd home- she is a bit of a handful between her energy level (obviously not visible in the pics above, lol), her jumping (5' straight in the air!

To find meaning in the chaos of life. Finishing Friday: Decluttering my Craft Room. February 24, 2017. Creativity used to be all about shiny, new things for me. "Crafting" My Talents

Some of us aren't naturally talented. We have to "craft it" as we go. Saturday, June 30, 2012. I just told you about Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous. And her great gift exchange, so I thought I would share my beautiful gifts that Katrina sent me. She made the cutest banner out of paper bags. It is adorable! I never would've thought brown paper bags could look so cute! Even better she made it to match a wreath I had made. How thoughtful is that? I got Aimee. She has a blog here. Aimee is a librarian, so I...

Somewhere in between work, diapers, dinners, and the general craziness of life.I like to create things and share them with others. Monday, May 23, 2011. One thing I really want to do, that I've mentioned previously, is personalize our house more. So for today's Miscellaneous Monday, I figured I would make a list entitled "I Would Love to Have.(maybe one day)" of things that I would like to eventually have in our house. Crafting My World...

Devoted to paper crafting, gardening, and other ways I craft my world. Saturday, November 1, 2014. Well, I'm not sure how smart this blanket is, but the textures on it are great for getting those little baby brains working. There are 4 fabric pieces on the top: Denim (recycled blue jeans), terry cloth, printed fleece, and slipper foot fabric (you know that nubby stuff they put on the bottom of footie jammies? Here's a pic of most of the top altogether. I hope this Fall is treating you well so far! It has...
