Tracy Beattie

We lived quite far from the sea, so a trip to the beach was a huge treat. Our week huddled up in a caravan by the sea each summer was the highlight of my year; it was better than Christmas. I love the idea of how each piece once had a life as something else; Ill never know quite what, how long ago or even where, but the sea took something discarded with it...

Trying something new here. A friend and me followed a little workshop on locker hooking. I have started on my first project to see if I can make something nice with it. Hurrah - my first FO since this blog started! This was my first go at a plarn ("plastic yarn") bag and it took 17 medium/large carrier bags to complete. I cut each carrier bag into strips roughly 2cm wide. I can't believe how much one carrier bag compresses down when you crochet with it! Last weeks projects - unfinished. The round shapes ...

May 28th, 2012. Business Models: What’s old is new again. We tend to think what’s happening today is new, never been seen or done before. This is especially true when it comes to the high tech industry. Usually, we are quite mistaken. There are very few truly novel things in the world. April 23rd, 2011. Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. Brian W. Kernighan.

Thankfully I’m still able to do children’s theatre and able to continue to do community theatre projects around Jacksonville. It was a big change and preparing for the job took a long time. My brother got married! This entry was...
